NORTH ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Freshman Lilla Zeevalk of the Saint Anselm College women's golf team has been named the Northeast 10 Conference Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league on Friday.
Zeevalk helped lead the Hawks to a pair of first-place team finishes this week, placing among the top five individually in both tournaments.
At the Hampton Beach Invitational, Zeevalk tied for second individually after carding a 12-over 83, finishing just one stroke behind the individual medalist. The freshman shot a seven-over 43 on the front nine before closing with a four-over 40 on the back, the lowest back-nine score among the Hawks.
Zeevalk followed that performance with a tied-for-fifth finish at the Saint Anselm Fall Invitational, totaling 165 strokes (+23) across two rounds. She opened the tournament with a 12-over 83 before improving by one stroke in Thursday's final round, carding an 11-over 82. Her performance helped Saint Anselm capture the team title by 23 strokes.
Across the two tournaments, Zeevalk recorded three rounds of 83 or better, highlighted by a season-low 82.
Zeevalk and the Hawks travel to Norristown, Pa., for the Northeast 10 Conference Championship, beginning Wednesday, Oct. 14, at Jeffersonville Golf Club.
