How It Happened

Saint Anselm opened the scoring just 1:32 into the contest as McCready found the back of the cage off an assist from Smith to give the Hawks a 1-0 advantage. Saint Anselm controlled the opening quarter, generating seven shots while limiting Franklin Pierce to none.

The Ravens evened the contest at 1-1, scoring 3:14 into the second quarter on a goal by Brynnlea Chaisson off an assist from Puck Wanders on a corner opportunity. The Hawks responded with 4:37 remaining before halftime as Garthee's shot was deflected off an outreached Ravens' stick and defelcted up and into the goal on a feed from Reid, restoring Saint Anselm's lead at 2-1.

Neither team found the back of the cage in the second half, but the Hawks continued to apply offensive pressure. Saint Anselm generated 14 shots after halftime and held Franklin Pierce to four attempts, including just one in the fourth quarter.

Wehrum and the Saint Anselm defense held firm over the final 30 minutes, preserving the one-goal advantage to secure the 2-1 victory and maintain the Hawks' perfect record in NE10 play.
