NORTH ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Saint Anselm College sophomore midfielder Kelly Holmes was named the Northeast 10 Conference (NE10) Field Hockey Player of the Week following a two-goal opening weekend performance against ranked opponents.
Holmes scored the lone Hawks' goal in the team's season-opening 2-1 loss to No. 3 East Stroudsburg on Saturday at Grappone Stadium, the first goal of her collegiate career.
In Sunday's victory against cross-town rival No. 8 Southern New Hampshire, Holmes' third quarter goal proved to be the eventual game-winner as Saint Anselm downed the Penmen, 4-2.
Holmes' two goals and four points rank tied for first in the conference.
