RINDGE, N.H. – The Saint Anselm College field hockey team secured a 2-0 victory over Franklin Pierce in a Northeast 10 (NE10) clash at Sodexo Field on Wednesday night, improving their record to 2-0 against conference competition.

How it Happened
After a scoreless first half, Saint Anselm scored its first goal of the game as sophomore Meghan Carey fired in a loose ball following a corner opportunity for her third goal of the campaign, making it 1-0 in favor of the Hawks.
The Hawks were able to put the game away as freshman Breanna Shorey made a sliding pass to classmate Bella DiFiore who buried the chance, marking her first collegiate goal, to make it 2-0 with less than five minutes to play. The Ravens had a chance to get on the board in the waning moments of the contest, but junior goalkeeper Mackenzie Wehrum stopped the try to keep the hosts scoreless and notch her first career shutout.
