HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Hunter Terlik scored the game's opening goal for American International just over one minute in to make it 1-0.

  • Lemay added his second goal off a feed from junior Chris Claflin (Newton, Mass.) with 2:42 left in the period to make it 4-1 in favor of the home team.
  • Saint Anselm produced three more goals in the second quarter and held a 7-1 advantage at halftime. Sophomore Mark Boyle (Reading, Mass.) found the back of the net from long range before Lemay finished two more for the Hawks.
  • The Hawks came out of the locker room on fire with eight straight goals to start the second half. Mulvey scored the first three in the opening five minutes of the third quarter to make it a 10-1 game.
  • Also scoring in the same quarter for Saint Anselm were Claflin, Lyon, and freshmen Eddie O'Brien (Franklin, Mass.) and Ben Turpin (Groveland, Mass.). Mulvey secured his fifth goal of the game with three minutes remaining in the third as the Hawks increased their lead to 15-1.
  • Cole Gaudet answered at the other end for the Yellow Jackets. He scored three unanswered goals between the third and fourth quarters, and Seven Gillingham made it four straight scores for the visitors as they cut the deficit to 15-5 with 8:37 left in the game.
  • Junior Jared Leonard (Rowley, Mass.) got the offense back into rhythm for Saint Anselm with three straight goals of his own in less than three minutes, including a man-up tally.
  • Sophomore Jacob Caron (Pelham, N.H.) scored the final goal of the game for the Hawks on another extra man opportunity with under two minutes to play.
  • Jacob Ligor found the back of the net one final time for American International, but Saint Anselm proved to be too much in the 19-6 victory.
  • Following the game, a postgame Senior Day ceremony was held to recognize the team's five senior student-athletes: Will Andrews (Cumberland, R.I.), John Colitz (Warwick, R.I.), Joe Lombardi (Holliston, Mass.), Tyler Marshall (Needhamn, Mass.), and Mulvey.
