GLOUCESTER, Mass. – The American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) has announced its 13 finalists for the 2025 Sid Watson Award, presented annually to the top NCAA Division II-III men's ice hockey player. Senior Hunter Brackett (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) of the Saint Anselm College men's ice hockey team has been named a finalist for the prestigious honor.

The Sid Watson Award honors the memory of former Bowdoin College head coach and athletic director Sid Watson. A three-time AHCA Coach of the Year, Watson served Bowdoin for over 30 years, amassing 326 career wins in 24 seasons behind the bench.

Brackett has already earned significant recognition this season, being named the Northeast-10 (NE10) Player of the Year—becoming just the fifth student-athlete in program history and the second in the last four years to receive the award. He led the NE10 in both goals (20) and points (40) while playing in all 30 games for the Hawks this season. His 20 assists ranked second in the conference, just two shy of league lead. Brackett finished the season with six more goals and seven more points than any other NE10 player, tallying three game-winning goals and four power-play goals.

The senior forward, who was also named a semifinalist for the Joe Concannon Award recorded the most goals in a single season by a Saint Anselm player since Mike Richard '13 netted 20 during the 2012-13 campaign.

The recipient of this year's Sid Watson Award will be announced during the NCAA Division III Ice Hockey Frozen Four on Friday, March 28.
