SHELTON, Conn.– The Saint Anselm Women's Ice Hockey team saw their winning streak come to end on Saturday as they fell in NEWHA action 3-0 to Post University.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Post University opened scoring quickly on Saturday afternoon scoring a goal in the first two minutes of play at even strength. Rowyn Ringor would grab the goal for the Eagles. Halfway through the period the Hawks would earn a power-play but would be unable to convert. With less than three minutes remaining in the opening period the Eagles would strike again scoring at even strength to make the game 2-0 going into the first break.
- The second period of play was dominated by the home team until the 12th minute of play where the Hawks would rip eight shots on the Eagles defensive line but would be unable to convert. In the 16th minute the final goal of the contest would fall through as Hannah Luckman would score for Post putting up to their final 3-0 lead.
- In the final period of play Saint Anselm would look to make an attack holding the majority of possession but would fail to score throughout the period of play.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Senior Tyra Turner (Andover, Minn.) tallied the most looks on net with five shots.
- The Hawks tallied 29 shots on the afternoon while Post grabbed 41. The Eagles out edged the Hawks 37-33 in the faceoff stat line on the evening.
- The Hawks tallied nine blocked shots while the Eagles grabbed 17.
- Carina Mancini (Middlefield, Conn.) registered the loss, allowing three goals and turning away 38 shots.
