MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Saint Anselm College women's tennis team dropped a Northeast-10 Conference match to Adelphi University on Saturday afternoon by a final score of 6-1.

• The Hawks play at Saint Michael's on Sunday September, 8th with a 12:00 p.m. start time.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• The Hawks started the match down 1-0 after falling in doubles action to the Panthers. Juniors Irene Garbo (Sardinia, Italy) and Camila Heredia Osante (Oaxaca, Mexico) battled in No. 1 doubles, but came up short, 6-3.
• Saint Anselm also suffered losses in No. 2 and No. 3 doubles by scores of 6-4,and 6-2, respectively.
• The Hawks found their lone win in the No. 1 singles slot as Garbo was able to win 6-1, 3-6, 10-3. The No. 2 – No. 6 slots for the Hawks fell.
• Adelphi moves to 1-0 in conference as Saint Anselm falls to 0-1.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

• Garbo picked up her first conference win in singles action after winning her No. 1 singles slot.
• This marked the 15th meeting between these programs with the Panthers remaining undefeated in the all-time series with today's 6-1 victory.
