MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Saint Anselm women's volleyball fell in three sets to No. 25 Lynn University Thursday night by 25-23, 25-16, and 25-9 final.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The first set of the match was dominated by the Hawks early as they took an early 6-1 advantage off of a Abigail Macalaguim (Chula Vista, Calif.) service ace. Lynn would look to respond capitalizing off a bad set by the Hawks and a service ace by Ula Gorjup. Sophomore Hollyn Frano (Cave Creek, Ariz.) ended the comeback attempt with her first kill of the set putting the Hawks up 9-7. The set would become an even match with the two teams exchanging points from kills and errors. Saint Anselm would see themselves take a 19-14 advantage off of another Frano kill. The Fighting Knights would go on their own run from a combination errors from the home team alongside a pair of kills from Maria Cecilia bringing the score to 19-22 in favor of the Hawks. Lynn would make their final push with a final kill from Cecilia to win the set.
- The Knights took their momentum into the second set of the match taking an early 5-1 lead over the Hawks off kills from Cecilia and Nikola Bartecka. The Hawks would look to make a push back in the middle of the set with a Taylor Lacerda (Franklin, Mass.) service ace and a Melis Kocak (East Greenwich, R.I.) kill. Lynn would continue its reign throughout the midsection of the set with kills from three members and various errors made from the Hawks. A pair of kills from Frano would ignite a brief fire for the Hawks bringing the score as close as 14-23 before the Knights would finalize the set with a kill from Hope Passerello and a service error from the Hawks.
- Strong swings for the Knights continued into the third set with Bartecka and Cecilia tabbing four total kills to bring the Knights to a 6-0 early lead. Frano would take this personally notching two quick kills back-to-back. This would be the end of Saint Anselm scoring until the latter half of the set. The Knights would go on to take a 16-4 advantage off kills from Fabia Stanton and Samantha Blahut. A kill from Lacerda and service error from the Knights would put the score at 7-19 in favor of the visitors. The Knights would finish the night on a 6-1 run to win the set 25-9.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Frano led the offense with 12 kills and registering six digs. Macalaguim led the passing column with 16 assists, and tabbing one kill.
- Defensively Madeline Burke (Lake George, N.Y.) tallied 14 digs alongside two assists.
- As a team the Hawks registered 23 kills, three service aces, and 22 assists.
