HOW IT HAPPENED
- Early in the first quarter, Lewandowski took over by scoring three goals in six minutes. The senior scored twice in the opening 1:06 before finishing off a feed from junior Ellie Brothers (Stafford Springs, Conn.) to put the Hawks up, 3-0, 6:50 into the first.
- Before the quarter came to an end, Saint Michael's found their first and only score of the evening off of a rebound shot-and-score by Bridgie Loughlin.
- The second quarter proved to be shot-heavy for the Hawks, but the team would only come out with one score from fifth-year Maddie Davis (Exeter, N.H.). Purple Knights goalkeeper Riley O'Connor tabbed 15 saves in the second quarter alone as the Hawks took a 4-1 lead into the hafltime break.
- Senior Ava Rayfield (Dover-Foxcroft, Maine) started the scoring just three minutes into the second half for Saint Anselm, scoring off a tip in with the feed from Lewandowski.
- 24 seconds later, junior Millie Forster (Cheshire, England) tallied her first goal of the season with a swing into the back of the net that made it 6-1, Hawks.
- The final score of the night would come from freshman Sophie Smith (Yarmouth, Maine) one minute after Forster's score in the third quarter.
