MANCHESTER, N.H. – Senior
Alison Ferullo (North Andover, Mass.) scored three of her five goals in the second half as the nationally-ranked No. 18 Saint Anselm College women's lacrosse team defeated Franklin Pierce University in non-conference play, 16-7, on Saturday. Four Hawks, including Ferullo, recorded five-point games in the win.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Just over one minute into the game, Franklin Pierce found the back of the net on a goal by Olivia DeLonais to take an early 1-0 lead.
- Saint Anselm tied the score five minutes into the first quarter when senior Jess Sullivan (Wrentham, Mass.) drove to the goal and finished. Ferullo gave the Hawks the lead shortly after with her first of the day. The senior cut to the net and received a pass from Sullivan before scoring from point-blank range.
- Over the final five minutes of the first, Saint Anselm scored three more times and led, 5-1, after one period of play. Junior Samantha Rivet (Sudbury, Mass.) scored her first of the game thanks to another helper from Sullivan. Freshman Lucy Mawn (Harwich, Mass.) then scored during a player-down situation and senior Isabella Stuzynski (Bedford, Mass.) finished off the quarter with a free-position goal.
- Junior goaltender Elizabeth Driscoll (Marblehead, Mass.) made three saves in the first quarter for Saint Anselm including a stop on a free-position shot by Franklin Pierce.
- A minute into the second quarter, senior Maggie Fitzgerald (Holliston, Mass.) made a move to her left, got past her defender, and scored her first of the afternoon to make it 6-1, Saint Anselm.
- Emily Ulmer answered for Franklin Pierce with a goal less than a minute later to make it a 6-2 game, but Saint Anselm erupted for five straight goals after that to take a nine-goal lead. Rivet scored twice to complete her first-half hat trick, while Ferullo, Stuzynski, and Sullivan each added their second goals of the game for the Hawks before halftime.
- Kayli Hoefs recorded a player-up score for the Ravens with six seconds left, but the Hawks led, 11-3, at the break.
- Both teams scored four times in an even third quarter. Each team scored player-up goals inside the opening three minutes of the third. Erin McIlroy converted on a free-position shot for Franklin Pierce, while Rivet fed Ferullo on a pick-and-pop for her third tally of the afternoon for Saint Anselm.
- Fitzgerald scored twice more during the third for the Hawks to cap off her hat trick, but DeLonais did the same for the Ravens. Stuzynski picked up two more assists and Saint Anselm took a 15-7 advantage into the fourth.
- The lone goal in the final quarter went to Ferullo who converted on another free-position opportunity for Saint Anselm which made it 16-7. Driscoll made two more saves and the Hawks forced six turnovers by the Ravens during the final 15 minutes to see out the non-conference victory.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Saint Anselm held a huge advantage in shot attempts, 47-26. The Hawks more than doubled up the Ravens in shots on goal, 37-15.
- Driscoll made a season-high eight saves for the Hawks in her third win of the year, while Katherine Hickey made 21 saves for the Ravens in the loss. Both goaltenders played all 60 minutes.
- Franklin Pierce committed 24 turnovers in the game, while Saint Anselm had just nine and caused 16 of the Ravens' giveaways. The Hawks dominated the ground ball total, holding a 29-9 advantage. Saint Anselm also successfully cleared 23 of their 25 attempts compared to Franklin Pierce going 15 for 23 on clear attempts.
- The Ravens held a 17-10 edge in draw controls and went 1-4 on free-position shots, while the Hawks went 2-5 on free-position shots.
- Ferullo had a huge day for Saint Anselm with five goals. Three other Hawks registered five-point games, including Rivet (three goals and two assists), Stuzynski (two goals and three assists), and Sullivan (two goals and three assists). Fitzgerald finished with three goals and assist while Mawn added a goal and Sullivan scooped up four ground balls for Saint Anselm.
- DeLonais led Franklin Pierce with three goals, while four other Ravens scored once.
- This marked the 24th all-time meeting between these two programs. Saint Anselm improves to 20-4 all-time against Franklin Pierce.
