AUBURNDALE, Fla. – The Saint Anselm College softball team triumphed over D'Youville University, 6-1, on the third day of The Spring Games before falling to the University of Indianapolis in the afternoon by a final score of 11-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED (Game 1):
- Sophomore Rose Reitmeyer (Oxford, Conn.) opened game one against the Saints with a double to left field for the Hawks. Shortly after, junior Ava Caputo (Waterford, N.Y.) notched her first home run of the season to left field to put Saint Anselm up 2-0 in the first inning.
- In the top of the second, freshman Jamie Calkins (Charlton, Mass.) laid down a sacrifice bunt to score senior Hannah Ramer (Rehoboth, Mass.) and make it a 3-0 game. Reitmeyer tacked on another run for the Hawks with an RBI single to left field bringing home junior Audrey Arsenault (Stow, Mass.) to extend Saint Anselm's advantage to 4-0.
- Senior Haile Hicks (Jefferson, N.H.) kept the Saints offense quiet after striking out two batters in the bottom of the third inning. Calkins singled to left field in the top of the fourth followed by another hit from Reitmeyer to put two Hawks on base with two outs. Saint Anselm took a 5-0 lead thanks to Calkins scoring on a passed ball.
- The Hawks offense continued in the top of the sixth as Ramer started the inning with a single to left field. Calkins later added another hit putting base runners on the corners. Arsenault scored as Calkins was caught in a rundown to give Saint Anselm a 6-0 lead.
- The Saints tacked on a late run in the bottom of the seventh inning as Beck walked with bases loaded to make it 6-1. The Hawks sealed their win after Adamo fouled out the catcher to secure the 6-1 victory over D'Youville.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Saint Anselm produced six runs off 12 hits in the game while D'Youville posted one run off seven hits.
- Caputo earned her first home run of the season, the fifth in her career, after going 1-for-4 in the game. Reitmeyer went 4-for-4 for Saint Anselm with an RBI and two doubles. Ramer went 2-for-3 at the plate with one run while junior Sam Wiberg (Exeter, N.H.) tallied a double for the Hawks.
- Calkins earned her first collegiate hits as a Hawk after going 2-for-2 at the plate and also picked up her first collegiate RBI in the win.
- Hicks picked up her fourth win of the season after pitching all seven innings allowing just one earned run off seven hits. She threw a total of 98 pitches after facing 29 batters in the game and recorded two punch outs.

HOW IT HAPPENED (Game 2):
- Freshman Kendra Lee (Endicott, N.Y.) made her first collegiate start on the rubber for Saint Anselm in game two of the day. Both teams struggled to get their bats going in the first three innings as the Hawks defense held the Greyhounds to zero hits.
- The Greyhounds scored their first run in the top of the fourth as O'Connor homered to make it 1-0. In the following inning, Indianapolis tacked on four more runs featuring a two-RBI home run from Nichols to put the Greyhounds ahead 5-0.
- After junior Sophia DiPippo (Cranston, R.I.) checked into the game for Saint Anselm, O'Connor tallied her second home run of the game to make it 6-0. Cook hit an RBI double late in the inning to give Indianapolis a seven-run lead at the end of the fifth.
- The Greyhounds cemented their win in the top of the sixth by scoring four earned runs off four hits. Calvin and Nichols hit back-to-back home runs followed by the third home run of the afternoon for O'Connor to win by a final score of 11-0.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- The Greyhounds posted 11 runs off 10 hits in the game while the Hawks produced two hits and zero errors.
- Caputo and freshman Caitlyn Duquette (Bedford, N.H.) both went 1-for-2 at the plate to record the only two hits of the game for Saint Anselm.
- O'Connor led the Greyhounds offense after going 3-for-3 on the day with all three hits being home runs for three RBI's.
- Lee picked up the loss after throwing for four innings and allowing five earned runs off four hits. DiPippo checked into the game for the fifth inning allowing five earned runs off five hits. Freshman Sam Ryan (Tewksbury, Mass.) came in late during the last inning and gave up one earned run and struck out one batter.
- This marked the third-ever meeting between these two programs with the Greyhounds remaining undefeated in the all-time series.
