HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Saint Anselm opened the game on Saturday with two quick shots on net from Brenna Young (Wilmington, Mass.), being turned away by Jill Hertl. Franklin Pierce would respond challenging the defensive line and Clara Karunakar (Scarborough, Ontario) in net. In the sixth minute the Ravens broke through, scoring their first goal of the evening from Mikayla Kelley. A minute later, the Hawks would even the score as Lilly Hartnell (Tampa, Fla.) scored at even strength off of a feed from teammate Nicola Forth (Schwenksville, Pa.). This response ignited the home team, allowing them to take another one goal advantage at 10:33, as Kelley would score her second of the game. 45-seconds after the home team's goal Brooklyn Schneiderhan (Helena, Mont.) would even the playing field off of a feed from teammates Ella Ridge (Chicago, Ill.) and Hailey Tullo (Southwick, Mass.). The teams would end the period at a tie, 2-2.
- Franklin Pierce left little time before taking their lead once again, in the first fourth of the period taking the 3-2 lead off of a Maggie Korneta score. Continuing to battle the two teams would exchange offensive ends for the next 10 minutes of play. At 15:31 Kelley registered a hat-trick as she scored her third goal of the evening giving the Ravens a 2-goal advantage. Saint Anselm would look for a response with Forth, and Audrey Jackson (Shoreview, Minn.) ripped shots towards the goal with no reward. Going into the final period of play the home team, Franklin Pierce, would hold a 4-2 lead over Saint Anselm.
- Quickly the Ravens extended their lead in the third period of play as Lilah Bauer scored just after the one-minute mark. A penalty called against Saint Anselm for body checking would give the Ravens squad a handful of scoring opportunities, but strong defense and goalkeeping from Carina Mancini (Middlefield, Conn.) would temporarily stop the scoring. After falling into another disadvantage from a hooking penalty the Hawks would find themselves down 6-2 as Franklin Pierce would score at 9:14 from Brynn Levinson. The final strike from the Ravens would come just after the hallway point of the period as Emma Laroche tallied the final goal for the home team giving them a 7-2 lead. The final score of the evening would come from Schneiderhan as she would score in a power-play sequence for Saint Anselm off of a feed from teammates Lucy DeCoteau (Canton, N.Y.) and Cora Webber (Johnson, R.I.), putting the final score at 7-3 Franklin Pierce.
