HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • The first period of action would quickly be dominated by the hosts of Yale University tallying eight shots in the first five minutes. Four seconds past the five-minute mark the home team would breakthrough as Carina DiAntonio would score off a feed by Emma DeCorby and Cami Bell. The Hawks would find their first scoring opportunity from Brooklyn Schneiderhan (Helena, Mont.) ripped a shot to be denied by the pipe. The home team would quickly flip momentum scoring their second goal of the evening off a rip form Anja Trummer, fed from Ellie Reiter and Emma Harvey. Freshman Lucy DeCoteau (Canton, N.Y.) registered the last shot of the period for the Hawks but the shot would be blocked by Emma DeCorby.
  • The second period would open in a better light for the Hawks as they would notch three early shots forcing the goaltender to make two big saves. The next 11-minutes of play would be controlled by Yale, before, at even strength, they would score their third goal from Alexis Fields. Audrey Jackson (Shoreview, Minn.) attempted a response but could not get past the defensive line of the home team. The bleeding would continue as the score would open to a four-goal advantage as Anna Bargman would score Yale's fourth goal in the 15th minute.
  • The final 20-minutes would open with three shots for the Hawks with Scheiderhan breaking through to the goalie but would be turned away. In the fifth minute Noemi Boucher would give the home team a larger advantage, 5-0. Four-minutes later the Bulldogs continued to have their offensive show as Vita Poniatovaskaia tabbed her first score of the season. Jackson again would look to respond but the goalkeeping stayed solid for the home team. The Bulldogs would go on to score three more goals giving them the 9-0 final win.
