MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Hawks found themselves a dramatic win on Saturday, winning 4-3 in Overtime fashion over Saint Michael's.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- In the first period of action on Saturday the Purple Knights took command first firing the first two shots of the day, both off target. Saint Anselm would find their response earning a power-play in the fourth minute of action on a hooking call against Saint Michael's Alicia McDonald. In the power play the Hawks would find shots from Brenna Young (Wilmington, Mass.) who first be rejected on a clutch save by the Purple Knights keeper, but secondly be blocked by Jodie Gratton. Later in the period the teams would exchange power plays, this is where the Hawks would excel. Senior Captain Tyra Turner (Andover, Minn.) would fire a shot between the goalie's legs off of a feed from Lucy DeCoteau (Canton, N.Y.) giving the Hawks the 1-0 advantage to end the period.
- Saint Anselm would continue their offensive pressure into the second period of action firing three quick shots at the Purple Knights net. Saint Michael's would find their response with Mary Leys firing a shot towards net, but Young would step up to block it. In the seventh minute the teams would exchange power-plays playing 4-on-4 for the second time during the game. At 7:37 Gracee Donovan (Orchard Park, N.Y.) would capitalize off of the short lines and put a shot in off of a rebound. The next 5-minutes would be dominated by Saint Michael's as they would rip shots towards senior goaltender Annabella Lalande (Lachute, Quebec) who denied all chances. In the 16th minute of the period the Hawks would earn another power-play on a tripping call against the Purple Knights Angelina Ruiz. At 18:20, nine seconds after the power-play expired, Cora Webber (Johnson, R.I.) scored her first goal in a Saint Anselm uniform off of a failed clear attempt by Saint Michael's. This goal putting the Hawks ahead 3-0 going into the third period.
- The final period of action would start as an exchange between the teams each firing shots at the opposing keeper with no avail. The Hawks would find their first big look coming from earning a power-play just before the seventh minute of action off of a high stick call. The Hawks would fire five back-to-back shots with no score. 17-seconds after the end of the Saint Anselm advantage the Purple Knights would break their scoreless trip as Anna Jerylo would fire a shot off of a feed from teammates Keeley Callander and Alicia McDonald bringing the score to 3-1 Hawks. In the 11th minute of play in the period Saint Michael's would earn a power-play on a tripping call on DeCoteau. Five-seconds into the power-play the Purple Knights would bring the game to a one goal game as Ellie Newpower would rip a long shot finding the back of the net. The troublesome tail would continue for Saint Anselm as Saint Michael's would tie the game at three goals a-piece in the 13th minute, as Brianna Jarvis would pick a pass and score. At the end of regulation, the two teams would remind tied at 3-a-piece and head towards a 3v3 overtime period.
- In the 3v3 overtime period the Hawks would have the first look as Webber would rip a shot towards the Purple Knights keeper but be turned away. Saint Michael's would respond with two quick shots of their own, but Lalande would come up clutch with two big saves. As the Hawks would look to push down the ice Saint Michael's would come up with an interception to no success. With one minute remaining in the 3v3 overtime Turner came to settle scoring a ripper off a pass from Brooklyn Schneiderhan (Helena, Mont.).
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Turner led the offensive strike for the Hawks scoring two goals on the day off of four shots on goal.
- Saint Michael's outshot Saint Anselm 64-61, and on goal 40-31.
- Saint Michael's held a slight advantage in the face-off battle, 37-28.
- The Purple Knights also produced 15 blocked shots, while the Hawks put together 14.
- Lalande allowed three goals in regulation and overtime while tabbing 37 saves for a 0.925 save percentage.
