HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Saint Anselm struck first and early in the Northeast-10 game with fifth year Maddie Davis (Exeter, N.H.) tabbing a shot and score (unassisted) just before the three-minute mark. Under five minutes later the senior would find herself in another scoring position off of a pass into the middle from Millie Forster (Cheshire, England) putting the Hawks ahead by two goals seven minutes into the game. The Hawks would continue to maintain pressure on the Chargers defensive line firing four more shots in the quarter. In the second quarter the Hawks would continue to maintain possession and apply pressure firing six more shots at the defensive line and keeper but would be unable to score.
- In the third quarter the Chargers would take control first as Abby Nixon would fire a shot on goal but be turned away by senior goaltender Sidney Falterer (Fairfield, Conn.). In response the Hawks would tally three more shots and take a corner at the 34th minute mark. New Haven would find the bulk of their offensive stint in the 36th and 37th minute tabbing three shots, with two being turned away by Falterer. With six-seconds remaining in the quarter the Hawks would earn a penalty corner, taken by Meghan Smith (Uxbridge, Mass). After feeding the ball into play Smith would find herself in the scramble in front of the net and score her first goal of the day putting the Hawks up 3-0. Saint Anselm would send a message in the fourth quarter, quickly tallying their fourth goal of the game. Davis would repeat for the third score of the day off a centering pass from Forster putting the Hawks up 4-0. 5-minutes later in play Smith would return to action finishing on the post from a feed from first year Ruby Reid (Fitchburg, Mass.). Another two minutes of play later the finishing goal would be scored by Reid as Maggie Burchill (Braintree, Mass.) would find her off of a shot and rebound.
