MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Saint Anselm College women's ice hockey team dominated over NEWHA opponent Saint Michael's College on Friday evening by a 5-0 Final.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- In the first period Saint Michael's would earn an early advantage on a tripping penalty called on Saint Anselm's Mackenzie Moss (Victoria, Minn.). During the power-play the home team would earn their own offensive opportunity as alternative captain Brooklyn Schneiderman (Helena, Mont.) would fire a shot that was turned away by the Purple Knights goalie. Before the end of the power-play Saint Michael's would fire their own shots from Julia Chedel but she would miss wide on both attempts. In the 13th minute of action sophomore Hailey Tullo (Southwick, Mass.) would score her first goal of the season off of a feed from teammate Gracee Donovan (Orchard Park, N.Y.) giving the home team the 1-0 advantage. Tullo would have one more strong look at scoring to end the period.
- The second period of play was dominated early by the Hawks would rip six quick shots at the Purple Knights keeper. In the sixth minute of play the Hawks would earn a power-play which would allow for the team to continue offensive pressure. 40-seconds after the end of the power-play Donovan would strike unassisted through the Purple Knights defense putting the Hawks up 2-0. Saint Michael's would find their own response firing four of their own shots with two on target. Senior Audrey Jackson (Shoreview, Minn.) expanded the lead for the Hawks, as a feed off of a Donovan shot, would allow the three-goal lead.
- Saint Anselm would continue to apply pressure to the Saint Michael's squad as Donovan would continue to dominate scoring another goal just under two-minutes of play. Freshman Nicola Forth (Schwenksville, Pa.) would assist on the score, earning her first collegiate point. 40-seconds later Jackson struck again extending the lead to 5-0 off of a feed from teammates Tullo and Madi Ressler (Brighton, Mich.). In the 10th minute of action, the Hawks would earn a power-play on a cross-checking call against the Purple Knights. In the latter half of the third period the Hawks would earn another power-play at the 15-minute mark. Donovan would continue to stay on the hunt for a hat-trick through the advantage. The Purple Knights goalies would string together saves to keep this at bay. The Hawks would rally behind each other to finalize the 5-0 victory.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Donovan held a career night in Sullivan, scoring two goals and tabbing two assists in her 100th career game. Jackson followed behind with two goals herself.
- Saint Anselm out shot Saint Michael's in every period (90-35) and led in shots on goal for the game, 60-18.
- Saint Michael's held a slight advantage in the face-off battle, 31-28.
- The Purple Knights also produced 13 blocked shots, while the Hawks put together just five.
- Senior Carina Mancini (Middlefield, Conn.) registered her first career full-game shutout, tabbing 16 saves in the victory.
