HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The first quarter was completely controlled by the offensive front of the Hawks who registered 12 shots and six penalty corners in the opening 15 minutes. Ravens goalkeeper Zoe Noorlag put on a huge display in the first and kept Saint Anselm scoreless with 10 saves.
- In the 28th minute, Rayfield helped the Hawks finally break the scorless drought and take a 1-0 advantage by finishing off a feed from junior Mille Forster (Cholmondeley, Cheshire, England). The play started from a penalty corner served in by fifth-year Maddie Davis (Exeter, N.H.).
- Saint Anselm extended its lead within two minutes after a rebound shot and score by freshman Leila Haertel (Mannheim, Germany). Haertel's first collegiate score allowed the Hawks to hold a comfortable 2-0 lead at the halftime break.
- The home team continued their momentum early in the third quarter. Just over three minutes in, Rayfield returned the favor by setting up Forster to make it a 3-0 game.
- That tandem of Hawks were not done there as just two minutes later, Forster picked out Rayfield again following another penalty corner. Rayfield was able to find the back of the cage for her second goal of the contest that made it 4-0.
- Saint Anselm grabbed one more goal, the final score of the night, with less than a minute to go in the third quarter. Freshman Ruby Reid (Fitchburg, Mass.) collected her first collegiate point by setting up sophomore Meghan Smith (Uxbridge, Mass.), who scored her third goal in the last two games to cap off the 5-0 victory.
