HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Saint Anselm and Post exchanged early shots in the game with the Hawks ripping their opening five shot attempts on target. Junior goalie Annabella Lalande (Lachute, Quebec), making her seventh start between the pipes for the Hawks, stopped the first four Eagles shots of the game. At the 8:50 mark, Jackson found the back of the net with sophomore Ella Ridge (Chicago, Ill.) and senior Natalie Tulchinsky (Clifton Park, N.Y.) each credited with an assist to give Saint Anselm a 1-0 lead.
- Shortly after Jackosn's goal, Macy Peterson quickly tied the game back up at 1-1 with her score at the 11:53 mark. Less than a minute later, Post took a 2-1 advantage thanks to Sajel Desai scoring at the 12:46 mark.
- Tulchinsky immediately answered for the Hawks by notching her 14th goal of the season after slotting the puck past the Eagles goalie Hannah Saunders to make it a 2-2. The Eagles earned their first power play chance of the game late in the period but the Hawks defense limited Post's attack to just one shot to end the first period level at 2-2.
- Saint Anselm's attack kicked off the second period by firing eight consecutive shots, six of which were saved by Saunders. Midway through the period, the Hawks went on the man advantage for the second time in the period posting seven total shots but the Eagles would successfully kill another Saint Anselm power play. Although Saint Anselm held a slight 9-8 shot advantage in the final half of the second period, the score would remain tied at 2-2 heading into the final intermission.
- Sophomore Brooklyn Schneiderhan (Helena, Mont.) fired the opening two shots on frame for the Hawks to start the final period of the game, both of which Saunders saved. Lalande produced four stops under the first five minutes of the period along with a block by senior Savannah Popick (South Windsor, Conn.).
- The Hawks continued to apply pressure in the Eagles defensive zone registering 10 total shots, including six on target, in comparison to just two shots from the Eagles approaching the halfway point of the period. At the 15:35 mark, Jackson finally broke through the score line tallying an unassisted goal to put the Hawks ahead 3-2 with under five minutes left in the game. Senior Celesta Paolucci (Grosse Pointe Woods, Mich.) solidified Saint Anselm's sweep over Post after scoring on an empty net to cement the 4-2 conference win.
