SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The nationally-ranked Saint Anselm College men's lacrosse team saw its run in the Northeast-10 Conference Championship come to an end at top-seeded Le Moyne College in Wednesday's Semifinal Round contest.

With the 8-4 loss, the Hawks, who are ranked No. 12 in the latest United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Division II National Poll, drop to 9-4 on the season and will await the NCAA Division II Men's Lacrosse Draw Show to learn of its NCAA postseason fate, which is scheduled for Sunday, May 7 at 7:30 p.m. The Dolphins, who are the top-ranked team in the same poll, remain unbeaten and move to 15-0 on their season.

Sophomore Will Andrews (Cumberland, R.I.) was credited with one goal and one assist for two points while senior Jack Andrews (Cumberland, R.I.), sophomore Colin Mulvey (Reading, Mass.), and freshman Brendan Crowley (Leicester, Mass.) all added one goal each for the Hawks.

Junior Anthony Kubik (Chicago, Ill.) made seven saves in his first start in a Hawks uniform on Wednesday.

The Dolphins would strike first as Seth Benedict found the back of the cage with 11:17 left in the first quarter. Le Moyne got a second goal from Olin Stanat at 3:10 which gave the hosts a 2-0 lead through the opening 15 minutes of play.

Benedict would net his second goal of the contest to open the second frame but Mulvey responded with his eighth goal of the season at 4:14 to get the Hawks on the scoreboard as the sides headed to the half with Le Moyne leading 3-1.

The teams traded scores in the third quarter as Kyle Caves pushed the Le Moyne lead to three just 47 seconds in to the third quarter before Crowley made the score 4-2 at 13:06.

Kevin Sheehan found the back of the goal for the Dolphins to make the score 5-2 just one minute after Crowley's tally. Jack Andrews replied for the Hawks at 9:38 which was the final goal scored in the third quarter as the sides headed to the fourth with Le Moyne in front, 5-3.

Sam Lambert registered a first-minute goal to open the fourth frame and Ethan Loun would give the hosts a four-goal lead with 5:12 remaining. Less than one minute later, Will Andrews found the back of the cage but a goal from Joey Pezzimenti at 3:07 put Le Moyne back up by four at the eventual final score of 8-4.

The Dolphins held a 36-32 advantage in shot attempts and held a 15-12 edge in shots on goal. Saint Anselm was 15-of-16 in clears while Le Moyne was 18-for-21.

The NE10 Defensive Player of the Year senior Ryan Slattery (North Andover, Mass.) caused a game-high three turnovers as the Dolphins turned the ball over 23 times compared to 19 for the Hawks.
