PREVIEW: No. 10 men's lacrosse, No. 14 Pace to tangle in midweek NE10 battle

MANCHESTER, N.H. – In a battle of nationally-ranked programs, the Saint Anselm College men's lacrosse team heads to Pace University in Northeast-10 Conference play on Wednesday, Apr. 19.

The Hawks downed Saint Michael's by a 17-11 score on Apr. 19 which extended their win streak to five games. Saint Anselm is 7-2 on the 2023 season with a 6-2 record in conference play. Following the trip to Pleasantville, N.Y., Saint Anselm will host Assumption University on Tuesday, Apr. 25 for their final game of the regular season.

The Setters fell to nationally-ranked Bentley on Apr. 15 by an 11-10 score. With the defeat, Pace is now 9-3 overall with a 5-3 record in NE10 play. After hosting Saint Anselm in their final home game of the regular season, the Setters will conclude their regular season on Saturday, Apr. 22 at the College of Saint Rose.

HAWKS NOTES
  • Junior Noah Larsen (Northborough, Mass.) leads Saint Anselm with 29 points, coming from 14 goals and 15 assists. Larsen ranks third on the team in goals while leading in assists.
  • Senior Jack Robinson (Wilbraham, Mass.) is second on the squad with 25 points. He is second on the Hawks in goals (17) and it tied for second in assists (8).
  • Senior Jack Andrews (Cumberland, R.I.) is the Saint Anselm leader with 20 goals scored this season. He has added four assists to bring him to 24 points.
  • Andrews needs just two goals to reach the 100-career goals mark. He would become just the seventh student-athlete in program history to reach that milestone.
  • Junior Chase Lilly (Trumull, Conn.) is tied for second on the team with eight assists. He has scored 11 goals to bring him to 19 points on the season.
  • Senior Craig Yannone (Lynnfield, Mass.) has won 75-of-132 faceoffs for the Hawks this season. Yannone leads the team with 49 ground balls.
  • For his career, Yannone currently ranks third all-time in career ground balls and with 24 more, he can become the all-time leader in that category.
  • Junior Jonathan Holland (Derry, N.H.) and seniors Ethan Dolan (Littleton, Mass.) and Henry Alford (Southborough, Mass.) have caused 13, 11, and 11 turnovers this season which lead the Hawks.
  • Senior David Olsen (Salem, N.H.) has started all nine games from the cage for the Hawks. He owns a 7.30 goals-against average and a 0.533 save percentage, totaling 65 saves on the season.
SCOUTING PACE
  • Daniel Zabbia leads the Setters attack with 43 goals and in points with 48. Zabbia has been credited with five assists to reach the 48-point mark.
  • Antony Caputo is second on the roster in goals at 25 while leading in assists at 19, totaling 44 points.
  • Ryan Brown, Jake Veres, and Rafael Rodriguez Jr. all have 20 or more points this season.
  • Maxwell Streety has won 173-of-280 faceoffs this season and scooped up 110 ground balls through 12 games.
  • Ryan Mimnaugh leads the Pace defensive charge with 20 caused turnovers.
  • Louis Ragusa has started all 12 Setters games this season. He has an 8.92 goals-against average with a 0.534 save percentage, making 109 total saves.
ALL-TIME vs. PACE
  • This will be the 27th meeting all-time between the two programs. Pace holds a 16-10 record in the series.
  • The Hawks collected a 14-10 win from Grappone Stadium on Apr. 20, 2022, marking the most recent meeting between the two sides.
