HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Purple Knights fired the first shot of the game with freshman goalie Courtney Stagman (Andover, Minn.) producing the stop. At the 7:33 mark, Weber slotted the puck into the upper left corner to give Saint Anselm the early 1-0 edge. Both teams exchanged shots until Jace Zapata tied the game with under six minutes left in the period.
- Weber answered for the Hawks, scoring short-handed off the helper from senior Natalie Tulchinsky (Clifton Park, N.Y.) less than a minute later to put Saint Anselm back ahead, 2-1. In the final two minutes of the first period, Tulchinsky and sophomore Brooklyn Schneiderhan (Helena, Mont.) each tallied a goal to give the Hawks a 4-1 advantage heading into the break.
- Early in the second period, the Hawks took control by outshooting the Purple Knights 9-2 in the opening five minutes of play. At the halfway point of the period, junior Tyra Turner (Andover, Minn.) found the back of the net thanks to a Schneiderhan centering pass to extend the Hawks' lead to four goals. A few minutes later, junior Audrey Jackson (Shoreview, Minn.) joined in on the scoring, notching her fourth goal of the season off a centering pass from Tulchinsky to make it 6-1.
- At the 15:22 mark, Saint Anselm earned their third power play of the period following a tripping penalty on the Purple Knights. Tulchinsky fired two shots on frame that Saint Michael's goalie Annika Lavender saved, but junior Gracee Donovan (Orchard Park, N.Y.) would slip the puck between Lavender's pads to boost Saint Anselm's lead to 7-1 at the end of period two.
- Stagman posted four early saves at the start of the third period featuring two shots from Lauren Fisher. Shortly after, the Hawks improved to an 8-1 advantage thanks to a goal by junior Madi Ressler (Brighton, Mich.) off an assist from Weber. With under 10 minutes left in the game, Weber netted her hat trick after gathering the puck at the blue line and calmly drilling a shot by Lavender.
- In the final minute of the third period, Turner notched her second score of the day after flicking a back-handed shot into the bottom left corner. Her goal would cement the 10-1 victory over the Purple Knights.
