MANCHESTER, N.H. – Four Hawks from the Saint Anselm College football team were named to the 2023 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Football Team, as announced by CSC on Tuesday.

The 2023 Academic All-District teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes football honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA. Requirements to be named to the Academic All-District team include student-athletes appearing in 90% of their teams' games and holding a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher.

Junior Brandon Potts (Bowie, Md.) started in every game in 2023 for the Hawks leading the team with 16 punt returns for 127 total yards. He also posted six kick returns for 111 total yards, good for second-best on the squad, and registered 18 total tackles including 13 solo and five assisted. On Oct. 7 against Bentley University, Potts posted his second-ever interception for a career-long 44-yard return. The junior defensive back also produced his first career forced fumble on Oct. 14 versus the University of New Haven and later on Nov. 4 against Franklin Pierce University Potts tallied his first career blocked kick.

Majoring in Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology, Potts earned his second consecutive CSC Academic All-District team selection. He also has been named to the Northeast-10 Conference (NE10) Academic Honor Roll four times throughout his three years at Saint Anselm.

Graduate student Devin Williams (Cliffwood, N.J.) recorded the third most tackles for Saint Anselm in 2023 posting 43 total tackles, 5.5 for a loss and a career-high 4.5 sacks for a combined loss of 31 yards. The veteran linebacker also produced two quarterback hurries and a season-high eight total tackles on Sept. 30 at Southern Connecticut State College.

Williams, a Criminal Justice major and minoring in Forensic Science, picked up his first CSC Academic All-District honor in his career. The Cliffwood native also earned recognition on the NE10 Academic Honor Roll three times as a Hawk.

Senior Aidan Daly (Braintree, Mass.) played in all 10 games this year producing a career-high 14 total tackles, 2.5 for a loss and one sack for a combined loss of five yards. On Oct. 21 against Assumption University, Daly recorded his first career forced fumble as a Hawk to go along with two tackles and a sack. He also posted a career-high five solo tackles on Sept. 9 versus Tiffin University.

Majoring in Accounting and minoring in Spanish, Daly also added CSC Academic All-District team to his list of honors for the second time in his career. The defensive lineman has been named to the NE10 Academic Honor Roll six times throughout his four years at Saint Anselm.

Senior Jake Nadeau (Rutland, Mass.) saw action in eight games during the 2023 season. He registered eight total tackles including four solo and four assisted. On Oct. 28 against Pace University, Nadeau notched his second career fumble recovery and returned it for 16 yards to match his career-best.

Nadeau, who is majoring in Business with a Finance minor, collects his second CSC Academic All-District award. The senior linebacker also has been tabbed an NE10 Academic Honor Roll honoree six times and earned the D2ADA Academic Achievement Award in 2022.

Academic All-District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced in late December.
