 HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • The Ravens jumped ahead early on a breakaway from Claudia Peirce, who squeezed the ball past freshman goalkeeper Maggie Warner (Saugus, Mass.) in the opening four minutes of the game. At the 12:22 mark, junior Riley DiGilio (Danvers, Mass.) ripped the first shot attempt of the afternoon for the Hawks, but the ball went high over the crossbar. A few moments later, Franklin Pierce doubled their lead after Brianna Trappett found the back of the net to make it a 2-0 game.
  • Senior Tara McCleary (Quincy, Mass.) forced the first save for Ravens goalkeeper Emilie Fox in the 21st minute of play to keep Saint Anselm off the scoreboard. Neither team registered a shot for the remainder of the half, as the Ravens would take the two-goal advantage heading into halftime.
  • Approximately three minutes into the second half, Franklin Pierce extended their lead to 3-0 following a score by Erin Keyt off the assist from Roos Monsma. The Hawks responded by firing two shot attempts, one from junior Josie Pecor (Williston, Vt.) and another from DiGilio, who ended up hitting the woodwork. McCleary ended the scoring drought for Saint Anselm, netting her second goal of the season in the 61st minute to make it a 3-1 game.
  • Senior Delany Glode (Kennebunkport, Maine) junior Allison Silverstein (Concord, N.H.) each registered a shot on target, forcing two more saves from Fox. Senior Olivia Gotobed (North Andover, Mass.) tallied a pair of late shot attempts in the half, but the Ravens would secure the win by a final score of 3-1.
