HOW IT HAPPENED:
- For the third game in a row, Saint Anselm opened the scoring in the first period. Weber skated into the zone on the left side and found senior captain Maddy McCaffery (Weymouth, Mass.) open in the slot. McCaffery made the extra pass on her backhand to Jackson, who found the back of the net for the first time this season put the Hawks ahead, 1-0.
- Freshman goaltender Courtney Stagman (Andover, Minn.) made six saves in the opening frame and the Hawks headed into the first intermission with their one-goal lead.
- Just 1:51 into the second period, Jackson took a shot from the right circle that was stopped by Post goaltender Grace Glasrud, but Weber was there to cash in on the rebound, giving Saint Anselm a 2-0 lead.
- With just over seven minutes to go in the second, sophomore Brooklyn Schneiderhan (Helena, Mont.) pounced on a loose puck in front of goal and fired home her fifth of the year. Senior Natalie Tulchinsky (Clifton Park, N.Y.) and junior Tyra Turner (Andover, Minn.) each picked up an assist on Saint Anselm's third goal of the game.
- It looked like Stagman was on the way to her first career shutout, but the Eagles finally got on the board with just 1:48 remaining in the third period courtesy of a power play goal by Sajel Desai.
- Saint Anselm was able to keep Post scoreless for the remainder of the game to hold on for their third straight victory.
