HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Eagles took a 13-11 advantage after going 5-for-5 from the free-throw line. Senior Alex Quirolo (New Rochelle, N.Y.) finished a late layup but Post would end the quarter with a 20-15 lead.
- Sophomore Gina Gaccione (Rutherford, N.J.) made the opening bucket in the second quarter with classmate Tatum Forbes (Pawtucket, R.I.) hitting her first jumper to make it 20-19. Shortly after posting a block at the 6:34 mark, Robles would finish a layup thanks to a steal by sophomore Harmony Marquez (Rutherford, N.J.) putting the Hawks ahead 21-20. A 9-5 run by the Eagles pulled them away to take a five-point lead with under two minutes left in the half. Post headed into the break up 33-30 after a pair of free-throw attempts from Robles and a good jumper by Hoyt helped narrow the score.
- Forbes got the Hawks offensive going at the start of the third quarter with a made free-throw and layup. Dede Steveson would give Post a seven-point lead at the 6:38 mark with her three-pointer. Forbes poured in another three points along with a layup from Hoyt to make it a 44-42. Although Saint Anselm stayed in the game after going 7-for-8 from the free-throw line the Eagles extended their advantage back to seven-points with a made layup from Trinty Bravo.
- After exchanging points at the start of the fourth quarter, Post would earn their largest lead of the game at nine points thanks to two made free-throw attempts by Taina Pagan. Lemanski answered by draining a triple off the assist from Forbes to make it 64-58 at the 8:40 mark. Saint Anselm then generated a 10-3 run that was finished off by a three-pointer from Forbes to make it a one-point game. After Hoyt tied the score at 71-71 with her two made free throws, she would then pour in four points for the Hawks to take a 74-70 lead with less than two minutes left in the final quarter. Lemanski drew a foul with 13 seconds left on the clock to help seal the 76-74 win over Post.
