The Hawks (6-8, 3-7 NE10) head to Philadelphia on Tuesday, Jan. 10 for a 6 p.m. showdown with Holy Family University before taking on Felician University on Thursday, Jan. 12 at 1 p.m. The remaining games for Saint Anselm will be played within the Northeast-10 Conference.

Last time out, Saint Anselm ended Saturday's game against the University of New Haven by scoring 25 of the final 35 points, rallying to take down Chargers by a 60-51 margin at Stoutenburgh Gymnasium. The Hawks have won four of their last five games.

Holy Family has won six games in a row, improving to 11-5 overall and to 6-0 against Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference opponents. The Tigers find themselves ranked eighth in the East Region poll, produced by D2SIDA.

Felician, who plays at Bridgeport on Tuesday, Jan. 10, carries a 6-6 overall record into play this week alongside an even 3-3 mark against the CACC. Since winning back-to-back games in late November, the Golden Falcons have followed up each of their victories with a loss.

SCOUTING SAINT ANSELM

  • Against New Haven, Saint Anselm matched a program record for free throw percentage, making all 14 of its free throws for the first time since a neutral-site tilt against Fort Hays State (Dec. 19, 2019). The perfect rate (min. 14 attempts) has only been accomplished once before, at home against Southern New Hampshire on Dec. 21, 2008.
  • Junior Gabby Turco (Wildwood, N.J.) scored a game-high 23 points against the Chargers, adding five rebounds and making all eight of her free throws. Sophomore Melanie Hoyt (Stamford, N.Y.) came through with 14 points and a team-best six rebounds and junior Alexa Quirolo (New Rochelle, N.Y.) poured home eight points, with four rebounds and two steals, off the bench.
  • The Hawks have recorded just 15 turnovers combined in the last two games, posting back-to-back single-digit turnover games for the first time since Dec. 4-Dec. 7, 2013. Saint Anselm ranks second in the NE10 in fewest turnovers per game (14.0) and 35th nationally.
  • Saint Anselm ranks second in the NE10 in free throw percentage and 13th in all of NCAA Division II with a 77.8% percentage. Turco is second in the conference with an 89.3% percentage and her 67 made free throws leads all NE10 student-athletes.

SCOUTING HOLY FAMILY

  • The Tigers leads the CACC in free throw attempts per game (19.56) and free throws made per game (13.38) while ranking second in winning percentage (68.8%), scoring offense (70.1 ppg), and field goal percentage (41.8%).
  • Claire Dougherty leads the CACC in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.5) while Skyler Searfoss has put home 60 free throws, ranking second among the league's student-athletes. Searfoss is one of two double-digit point producers for the Tigers, averaging 13.3 points per game.
  • Moe Moore is hauling in 4.9 defensive rebounds per game and ranks 10th in the league with 93 caroms to her credit. She has also produced 25 steals, ranking 11th in the CACC.
  • Holy Family is coming off a game where it committed 27 turnovers, yet secured an 11-point victory over Felician. A stout Tigers defense held the Golden Falcons to just a 21.7% field goal percentage.

SCOUTING FELICIAN

  • After posting an 0-11 record in the 2020-21 season, the Golden Falcons have since posted 18 wins across the prior two seasons. The team is in search of double-digit victories in back-to-back seasons for the first time since the 2009-10, 2010-11 and 2011-12 seasons.
  • Felician leads the CACC in turnovers forced per game (20.58) and is second in three-point percentage defense (28.7%). The Golden Falcons rank fourth in three-point percentage (31.3%).
  • Briana Lee ranks in the top two in the CAC in numerous statistical categories, including double-doubles (eight), free-throw percentage (85.%), points per game (17.0), rebounds (142) and rebounds per game (11.8).
  • Lee's 17.1 career points per game are the sixth-most among active NCAA Division II student-athletes.

ALL-TIME vs. HOLY FAMILY, FELICIAN

  • Saint Anselm played Holy Family for the first time in 2021-22. The only other present-day East Region program that the Hawks have not played is Saint Thomas Aquinas.
  • The Tigers came away with a 64-61 victory over Saint Anselm in Stoutenburgh Gymnasium on Nov. 27, 2021. The Hawks trailed by an 18-8 margin through the game's first 10 minutes.
  • Saint Anselm and Felician have played in five games entering play on Tuesday with the Hawks winners of each of the last three games.
  • Last time out, on Dec. 10, 2021, Saint Anselm overcame an 18-point deficit to stun the Golden Falcons by a 73-63 margin in Stoutenburgh Gymnasium. It was the biggest comeback victory for Saint Anselm since at least the 2001-02 season.
