Men's basketball handles Le Moyne at home, 77-65

MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Saint Anselm College men's basketball team secured a 77-65 victory over Le Moyne College on Tuesday.

The Hawks poured home 14 three-point baskets, improving to 11-4 overall on the season and to 8-2 versus Northeast-10 Conference opponents. The Dolphins drop to 9-8 on the year, falling to 6-3 against league opponents.

Four reached double-digits in point scoring for Saint Anselm, led by senior Miles Tention (Palo Alto, Calif.) and his 19 points on five-of-eight shooting from beyond the arc. Senior Tyler Arbuckle (Bristol, Conn.) scored 17 points in the victory.

Sophomore Keith Robinson (Phillip Island, Australia) recorded 13 points, seven rebounds, two assists and two blocks while senior Owen McGlashan (Marlton, N.J.) hauled in 12 of his team's 38 total rebounds while adding 10 points of his own.

Le Moyne led by as many as seven points late in the first half before a quick 10-0 scoring run by the Hawks pushed the hosts into the lead, 30-27. In total, Saint Anselm scored 20 of the first half's final 28 points, fueled by Tention's nine points in that span.

The Dolphins cut into the Hawks advantage, trailing by just three points only four-plus minutes into the second half. Saint Anselm captured a sizeable lead with a 16-to-2 scoring run that spanned just over seven minutes, leading by a 61-44 score with 8:39 to go.

Ahead by a game-high 17 points (66-49) with 6:15 left in regulation, Le Moyne used a 10-1 scoring run to shrink the big lead to just two possessions, 67-61, with under three minutes remaining. Sending the Hawks to the line down the stretch, Saint Anselm made 10 of its final 12 free throws on the way to victory.

Saint Anselm shot 44.4% from the floor, but converted at a 53.8% clip from beyond the arc (14-for-26). Le Moyne, meanwhile, was under 40% shooting for the game but did own a slight edge in rebounding, 39-to-38.

Le Moyne was whistled for 18 of the game's 23 fouls, sending the Hawks to the line 22 times.

The Hawks return to action Saturday, Jan. 14 as they head to nationally-ranked Saint Thomas Aquinas for a 3 p.m. showdown with the Spartans.
