In their last time out, the Hawks fell to Bentley University by a 3-0 score which came on Sept. 23 from Stoutenburgh Gymnasium. The loss snapped a three-match winning streak for Saint Anselm who comes into play on Saturday at 11-6 overall and 1-1 in NE10 contests.
The Setters dropped their conference match in straight sets to Adelphi University which brings them to 2-11 on the season and 0-3 in league matches. The Setters have lost three consecutive matches entering the tilt with the Hawks.
HAWKS NOTES
- Senior Lauren Casey (Jefferson City, Mo.) is averaging 2.94 kills per set and has a total of 153 kills through 17 matches this season. Casey is responsible for a team-high 183.0 points.
- Sophomore Gabby Belcher (Buckeye, Ariz.) and juniors Kaitlin Brown (Glendale, Ariz.) and Audrey Wetjen (Henderson, Nev.) have all posted 100 or more kills this season. Wetjen is leading Saint Anselm with a 0.388 hitting percentage which ranks second in the NE10. Freshman Ava Kidd (Walton, Ky.) is fourth in the conference with a 0.344 hitting percentage.
- Senior co-captain Michelle Henwood (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico) is averaging the second most assists per set in the conference at 8.81. Henwood has a total of 467 helpers which is third in the NE10. Henwood also leads Saint Anselm with 28 service aces this season which is good for an average of 0.53 per set. Sophomore Kennedy Scheppler (Lubbock, Texas) is second in the conference with a 0.59 service aces per set average.
- Senior co-captain Caroline Belmontez (San Diego, Calif.) leads the Hawks with 233 digs, averaging 4.09 per set. Belmontez's numbers rank third and sixth in the NE10 respectively.
- Wetjen and Brown lead the Hawks with 45.0 and 39.0 blocks each. Wetjen has 12 solo blocks to go with 33 assisted while Brown has five solo and a team-high 34 assisted.
SCOUTING PACE
- Madisen Lupica leads the Setters with 118 kills this season, good for an average of 2.62 per set. Jada Screen ranks second on the team with 90 kills and a 0.145 hitting percentage.
- Georgette Cosentino is averaging 8.35 assists per set with a total of 409 helpers in 49 sets played this season.
- Jamie Bittiger leads the team with 15 service aces on the season. Bittiger is averaging 0.30 service aces per set.
- Bittiger is leading the defense for Pace with 199 total digs. Through 50 sets played, she is averging 3.98 digs per set.
- Chelsey James has nine solo blocks and 24 assisted blocks for 33.0 total blocks this season.
ALL-TIME vs. PACE
- The Hawks and Setters will be meeting for the 27th time on Saturday. Pace is 15-11 against Saint Anselm volleyball all-time.
- In last season's meeting, Saint Anselm grabbed a 3-0 win from Stoutenburgh Gymnasium on Oct. 1.
- The Hawks are currently riding a nine-match win streak against the Setters, which stands as the longest streak for either side in the series.
