The Hawks carry a 1-3 overall record into play this week after posting a 7-0 victory over Plymouth State on Thursday and a 7-0 loss at New Haven on Sunday.
Franklin Pierce is 2-0 on the season while Holy Cross carries a 1-0 record into play.
SCOUTING SAINT ANSELM
- Sophomore Olivia Parzick (Bow, N.H.) was a part of two wins at No. 1 doubles this past week and also produced a thrilling three-set victory on Tuesday against Plymouth State at No. 3 singles that clinched a 7-0 shutout win.
- Competing at No. 1 singles and doubles this week, freshman Irene Garbo (Assemini, Sardinia, Italy) was a part of two doubles victories this past week (6-2 against Plymouth State, 6-3 at New Haven). She also contributed with a dominant 6-0, 6-0 victory at home against Plymouth State on Tuesday.
- Freshman Camila Heredia Osante (Oaxaca, Mexico), who won NE10 Player of the Week on Sept. 13, owns a 3-1 record in singles play and is 2-1 at No. 3 doubles so far this academic year. She was recently moved up in the lineup to No. 4 singles with that change happening prior to the New Haven match.
- The Hawks logged a 2-8 record in NE10 play in 2021-22, defeating American International and Saint Michael's. Saint Anselm is in search of its first conference victory in 2022-23 heading into Tuesday's tilt.
SCOUTING FRANKLIN PIERCE
- The Ravens posted a 15-6 overall record in 2021-22, winning eight of their 10 NE10 matches. The reigning NE10 Champions posted convincing victories on the way to the league title last year, blanking New Haven and Southern New Hampshire before getting past Adelphi, 4-1.
- The team qualified for the Third Round of the NCAA Championship last year, falling to No. 1 Barry by a 4-0 score on Tuesday, May 17.
- Franklin Pierce is 2-0 this year, defeating NCAA Division III Colby-Sawyer by a 9-0 score on Wednesday, Sept. 7 before blanking American International, 7-0, last time out.
SCOUTING HOLY CROSS
- The Crusaders, an NCAA Division I member, play a limited women's tennis schedule. To date, the team has defeated NCAA Division III Mount Holyoke by a 5-2 score. The team's only other listed matches include a tilt with the Hawks and a battle with NCAA Division I Stonehill just four days later.
- Mount Holyoke picked up the doubles point from Holy Cross in its match, but went on to drop singles flights two through five.
ALL-TIME vs. FRANKLIN PIERCE, HOLY CROSS
- Saint Anselm owns a 25-8 record against Franklin Pierce in the all-time series. The Hawks had won 14 matches in a row over the Ravens, but since the start of the 2019-20 season, Franklin Pierce has won four in a row in shutout fashion.
- The Hawks are 0-13 against Holy Cross but each of the last two matches have ended in narrow 4-3 defeats.
