MANCHESTER, N.H. - The regionally-ranked Saint Anselm College men's soccer team plays Southern New Hampshire University and Southern Connecticut State University in a pair of Northeast-10 Conference matches this week.
The Hawks will battle the regionally-ranked Penmen on Wednesday, Sept. 14 before heading to New Haven, Conn. to face the Owls, who are No. 15 in the United Soccer Coaches National poll.

The Hawks grabbed a 1-0 win over New Haven to open their NE10 Conference slate. With the win, Saint Anselm improves to 4-0-0 overall and 1-0-0 in league games. After the pair of road contests, the Hawks will host Saint Rose on Tuesday, Sept. 20.
The Penmen grabbed a 2-0 win over then No. 21 Adelphi University in both programs' conference opener. Southern New Hampshire will host Le Moyne College on Saturday, Sept. 17 following the match with the Hawks.
The Owls played to a scoreless draw at Saint Rose on Sept. 10. Southern Connecticut State will battle Queens on Wednesday, Sept. 14 before hosting the Hawks. The team will have three more home games to close a five-game home stand after the match with Saint Anselm.
HAWKS NOTES
- Seniors Brian Underhill (Westford, Mass.) and Kyle White (Danvers, Mass.) collected the conference's Goalkeeper of the Week and the Defensive Player of the Week on Monday. It is the first weekly accolade for either student-athlete. White becomes the first men's soccer student-athlete to be named the Defensive Player of the Week and Underhill is the first student-athlete to be named Goalkeeper of the Week since the 2018 season.
- Underhill leads the NE10 in total saves (24) and in save percentage (0.923). He is tied for second in total goals allowed with two and is fourth with a 0.50 goals-against average.
- White is one of five student-athletes on the Hawks roster with one goal this season joining graduate student Zach Elliot (Manchester, N.H.), senior Taylor Silverstein (Concord, N.H.), junior Josue Assantha (Bukavu, Democratic Republic of the Congo), and sophomore Andrew Kubinski (Norton, Mass.).
- Senior Jackson Bukunt (Upton, Mass.) leads the team with two goals and has added an assist for five points through four games.
- Saint Anselm is 2-for-4 in penalty kick attempts this season with Silverstein and White converting on their penalty kick chances.
SCOUTING SOUTHERN NEW HAMPSHIRE
- Luca Shubitidze leads the Penmen with two goals and two assists for six points.
- Southern New Hampshire has scored six goals in four games while allowing just one. Four student-athletes sit on one goal each.
- Jamie Selva is the lone other student-athlete with an assist for Southern New Hampshire this season.
- Phillip Hermann has put a team-high six shots on goal while Shubitidze leads the team with 11 shot attempts.
- Jackson Rivers has started three games in the goal this season. He is 2-1-0 with a 0.33 goals-against average and a 0.923 save percentage. Preston Neal has drawn the other start for the Penmen. He made four saves in a clean sheet.
SCOUTING SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT STATE
- Yannick Hilpert has a team-high three goals this season for the nationally-ranked Owls. Hilpert has added an assist and leads the team with seven points.
- Joshi Munoz, Zico Groenveld, and Hideki Morales rank second on the team with two goals each.
- The team has outscored its opponents by a 12-2 margin this season.
- Leroy Best and Karim Said are tied for the team lead with two helpers each.
- Devin Juan has started all five games in the goal for Southern Connecticut State. He has stopped 17 shots on goal and owns a 0.40 goals-against average and 0.895 save percentage.
ALL-TIME vs. SOUTHERN NEW HAMPSHIRE, SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT STATE
- This will be the 48th meeting all-time between the Hawks and Penmen in men's soccer. The Penmen are 34-7-6 against the Hawks.
- Southern New Hampshire took the most recent meeting on Oct. 27 by a 2-0 score from Melucci Field.
- The Penmen are unbeaten in the last 11 meetings in the series with the only tie coming on Oct. 11, 2016.
- The Hawks and Owls will battle for the 25th time on Saturday. Southern Connecticut is 17-5-2 against Saint Anselm all-time.
- Saint Anselm posted a 1-0 victory in overtime in the last meeting between the squads on Oct. 16, 2021.
- Sophomore Vitor Rodrigues (Rondon do Para, Brazil) netted the game-winner in that contest, marking his first collegiate tally.
