MANCHESTER, N.H. – The No. 3 seed Saint Anselm College women's ice hockey team squares off with the No. 1 seed Franklin Pierce University in the New England Women's Hockey Alliance Championship on Saturday, Mar. 5.
The opening puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. from the Jason Ritchie Ice Arena in Winchendon, Mass.

The Hawks advanced to the NEWHA Championship after downing the second seed, Long Island University, by a 3-1 score on Mar. 4. The team improved to 16-12-3 on the season and is playing in its fourth consecutive league championship game.
The Ravens posted a 2-0 win over No. 4 seed Sacred Heart University in the NEWHA semifinals. With the win, the top-seeded Ravens improved to 21-9-1 on the season. Franklin Pierce is making its second appearance in the NEWHA Championship game.

SCOUTING SAINT ANSELM
- Saint Anselm has registered at least 16 wins in each full season of competition since the 2009-10 season, marking 11 consecutive seasons that the Hawks have reached that threshold.
- Freshman Audrey Jackson (Shoreview, Minn.) and seniors Kelly Golini (Tewksbury, Mass.) and Erin Meyers (Saint Paul, Minn.) were responsible for the Hawks three goals in the semifinal win over LIU.
- Golini and Meyers registered one assist each, leading the team with two points while sophomore Brinna Martin (St. Michael, Minn.) notched her 11th helper of the season, which is fourth most on the Hawks.
- Golini and Meyers are tied for the team lead with 30 points each. Golini extended her point streak to 15 games while Meyers has recorded a point in each of her last 12 games played. The duo is tied for third in the NEWHA in points.
- Golini and freshman Tyra Turner (Andover, Minn.) are tied for the team lead with 14 goals each. Golini ranks second on the squad in assists with 16. Golini and Turner are tied for second in the league in goals.
- Turner, who was named the Hockey Commissioners Association Women's National Rookie of the Month for February on Thursday, is tied for the team lead in goals and is third in assists with 14 for a total of 28 points.
- Meyers is the Hawks leader and is second in the NEWHA in assists with 20, which is a career-high. Meyers has also set a career-high in goals and points this season.
- Junior netminder Allie Kelley (East Berne, N.Y.) made 44 saves on 45 shots on goal in the win over LIU. Kelley now has 989 saves on the season and can become the first Saint Anselm ice hockey student-athlete, male or female, to reach the 1,000 saves mark in a single season.
- Kelley ranks second in the league in save percentage, coming in at .937. The junior ranks fourth in goals-against average at 2.33. Compared to NCAA Division I student-athletes, Kelley has the second most saves and is 11th in save percentage.
- Saint Anselm is 13-for-126 on the power play, converting at 10.3% while the team is killing penalties at 86.7%, allowing 17 goals in 128 times shorthanded.
SCOUTING FRANKLIN PIERCE
- The Ravens grabbed their 21st win of the season in the NEWHA Semifinals, downing Sacred Heart by a 2-0 score on Friday.
- Since the start of 2022, Franklin Pierce has gone 12-1-0 and had posted 11 wins in a row, dating back to the final game of the 2021 calendar year on Dec. 11.
- Geno Hendrickson and Ava Kison netted the Franklin Pierce goals in the win with Hendrickson netting the game-winning goal.
- Becca Kniss leads the squad with 12 goals while Kison, Marissa Massaro, and Emilie Prive have added double digit scoring for the Ravens. Kison scored her 11th goal of the season in Friday's win.
- Katelyn Brightbill leads the team with 18 assists and in points with 23. Brightbill is tied for third in the NEWHA in assists. Five other Ravens have more than 10 helpers on the season.
- Suzette Faucher has started 16 games this season, including the semifinal win. Faucher leads the league with a 1.04 goals-against average and a .959 save percentage. Faucher leads all NCAA Division I student-athletes in save percentage. She leads the NEWHA in goals-against average.
- Emme Ostrander has drawn 15 starts for Franklin Pierce in 2021-22. Ostrander has a .902 save percentage and a 2.60 goals-against average.
- The Ravens have netted 21 goals on 127 power play chances, operating at 16.5%. On the penalty kill, the team has allowed 12 goals in 112 times shorthanded, killing off penalties at 89.3%.
ALL-TIME, NEWHA POSTSEASON
- The Hawks improved to 7-2 all-time in the NEWHA postseason. The team is making its fourth appearance in as many seasons in the league championship game.
- Saint Anselm is 1-2 in the NEWHA Championship game, collecting the league's crown in the 2018-19 season, capturing that title over the Ravens.
- Franklin Pierce captured its first regular season title and is making its second NEWHA Championship game appearance.
- Franklin Pierce is 3-4 in the league postseason, after advancing to the title 2021-22 game.
- The last time these programs met in the NEWHA postseason came on Feb. 22, 2020. The Hawks downed the Ravens by a 2-1 score in five overtimes, which is the longest game in NCAA women's ice hockey history.
ALL-TIME vs. FRANKLIN PIERCE
- The championship tilt will mark the 32nd meeting in the all-time series with the Hawks holding a 24-6-1 record against the Ravens.
- This will be the fifth meeting of the season between the programs this season. Franklin Pierce is 3-1-0 against Saint Anselm through the regular season. The Hawks opened the season series with a 1-0 win on Oct. 29 before falling by a 3-2 score on Oct. 30. In the Jan. 28 meeting, Franklin Pierce posted a 3-2 win in overtime before concluding the season series with a 3-1 win over the Hawks on Feb. 15.
- The Hawks were 21-0-1 before the Ravens captured their first win in the series on Nov. 1, 2019. Since then, Franklin Pierce is 6-3 against Saint Anselm.
