Saint Anselm checks in as the ninth-ranked team in NCAA Division II, having won each of its three games this season. Since the start of the 2021 season, the Hawks own a 19-game winning streak in the regular season and including the Northeast-10 Conference and NCAA postseasons, Saint Anselm is 19-2 since the first game of the 2020 campaign.
Winners of the NCAA Division II National Championship in 2021, Le Moyne is the undisputed top-ranked team in NCAA Division II, earning 23 first-place votes in the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association's poll. The Dolphins are coming off a 12-10 loss at No. 16-ranked Florida Southern, a defeat which snapped a 23-game winning streak dating back to May 18, 2019.
Both of the two Saint Anselm losses in the last 21 games have come to Le Moyne. The Hawks fell in the NE10 title game to the Dolphins in 2021 before losing once again to Le Moyne in the NCAA playoffs, just one game after Saint Anselm won its first game in the national postseason.
