MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Saint Anselm College men's basketball team, receiving votes in the National Association of Basketball Coaches' poll, will take on Stonehill College this Saturday, Feb. 5 at 3:30 p.m. in Merkert Gymnasium.

Saint Anselm will bring a 12-5 record into play on Saturday along with a modest two-game winning streak. The Hawks have won four of their first six games played away from Stoutenburgh Gymnasium and have won six of the last seven games played against Stonehill in North Easton, Mass.
Stonehill, the No. 24-ranked team in the nation earlier this season, has since fallen out of the poll and owns an 11-9 record on the year with a 7-7 mark against the league. The Skyhawks shot north of 50% from the floor in the one-point victory.
Fans heading to the game at Stonehill are expected to familiarize themselves with the College's spectator policy.
SCOUTING SAINT ANSELM
- Saint Anselm overcame a double-digit deficit in the second half and closed the game with five consecutive points, stunning Assumption University by a 69-67 final score on Wednesday. Senior Chris Paul (Highland Mills, N.Y.) scored a game-high 22 points for Saint Anselm, matching senior Miles Tention (Palo Alto, Calif.) for the team lead with six assists.
- Junior Tyler Arbuckle (Bristol, Conn.) produced 16 points and senior Gustav Suhr-Jessen (Virum, Denmark) secured the double-double, posting 14 points and 13 rebounds – he was responsible for the game-winning layup in the game's final 30 seconds as well.
- Saint Anselm finished the game against Assumption by shooting a blistering 15-for-25 (.600) in the second half, holding the overall advantage in shooting percentage (47.2%-to-40.0%) and winning the glass, 43-to-30.
- Paul needs two points to crack the all-time top-10 scorer's list at Saint Anselm. He has scored 1,725 points across 109 games played on the Hilltop, averaging 15.8 points per game in his career. He has poured home 454 free throws for Saint Anselm, ranking fourth all-time in that statistic.
- The Hawks are 8-1 when winning the rebounding battle in 2021-22.
- Head Coach Keith Dickson, in his 36th year on the Hilltop, owns an all-time record of 676-347 (.660).
SCOUTING STONEHILL
- The Skyhawks have lost four of their last six games, but did pick up back-to-back victories against Southern Connecticut State and American International on Jan. 22 and Jan. 25. Stonehill opened the 2021-22 campaign with six wins in its first seven games played.
- Last time out, the Skyhawks fell to No. 12/18 Bentley by an 87-73 margin. With the score tied at 44 after the first half, Bentley outscored Stonehill by a 43-29 margin in the final 20 minutes to secure the 14-point victory. Owen Chose led the way with 20 points.
- Stonehill leads the NE10 in free throws made (290) and free throw attempts (395) while ranking second in steals per game (7.0). The team concedes just 69 points per game, on average, the third-best figure in the conference and the team's 1.8 rebound margin is fourth in the NE10.
- Isaiah Burnett's 2.31 steals per game leads the NE10 and is ranked 17th in NCAA Division II. Chose is fourth in the NE10 with 2.88 three-point field goals per game. Myles Hanson has 0.83 blocked shots per game to rank 15th in the conference.
- Stonehill is led by Chris Kraus, who is in the midst of his ninth year with the program. He has a career record of 126-96 (.568).
ALL-TIME vs. STONEHILL
- Saint Anselm is 73-51 in the all-time series with Stonehill that dates back to Dec. 12, 1950. The only team that the Hawks have faced more frequently than the Skyhawks is Assumption, who has battled Saint Anselm 127 times in team history.
- The Hawks have won six of the last eight games against Stonehill since Feb. 15, 2017. Five of those six victories have been double-digit wins, including a 92-66 win over the Skyhawks on Nov. 20, 2018.
