Saint Anselm owns a 3-3 overall record alongside a mark of 2-1 versus the Northeast-10 Conference. The Hawks are fresh off a convincing 94-78 victory over Franklin Pierce on Sunday, Nov. 27 but will return to the road after most recently falling at Pace, 74-47, on Tuesday, Nov. 22.
Saint Rose (4-3, 0-2 NE10) remains in search of its first conference victory of the 2022-23 campaign and has won two straight games, downing Lake Superior State this past Friday at the Saint Michael's Eracism Invitational. The Golden Knights later added a 93-68 victory over D'Youville the next day.
To begin the week, Adelphi owns a 3-3 record after dropping its first two games against NE10 foes. The Panthers will play at Southern New Hampshire on Wednesday, Nov. 30 before making the cross-town trek to play at Saint Anselm at 3:30 p.m.
SCOUTING SAINT ANSELM
- Saint Anselm led from start to finish in Sunday's 94-78 win against Franklin Pierce. In total, the Hawks handed out 26 assists against Franklin Pierce, the most in a single game since January 2020.
- Senior Miles Tention (Palo Alto, Calif.), honored with a pre-game ceremony to recognize his 1,000th career point, handed out a career-high 11 helpers in the victory over the Ravens, finishing with 18 points and five rebounds in the well-rounded effort.
- Tention's 11 assists were the most by a Hawks student-athlete since Tim Guers '19 also produced 11 against American International on Jan. 19, 2019. Junior Matt Becker (Fairfield, Conn.) added four assists for Saint Anselm against the Ravens alongside a team-leading 13 rebounds in 26 minutes.
- Senior Owen McGlashan (Marlton, N.J.) was on fire from the floor, shooting 10-for-14 against Franklin Pierce and leading the way with a career-high 23 points. Sophomore Zac Taylor (Victoria, Australia) also delivered a personal-best 20 points, making four of his five attempts from beyond the arc.
- Tention presently ranks fifth on the all-time list for three-point field goal percentage (41.9%, 196-for-468). He has also handed out 272 assists in a Saint Anselm uniform, ranking in the top-25 all-time.
SCOUTING SAINT ROSE
- The Golden Knights have not dropped a game in regulation time since Saturday, Nov. 19 at home against Saint Michael's. Each of the team's three losses to date have been by eight or fewer points, including a one-point loss to now nationally-ranked Dominican (N.Y.).
- Shane O'Dell leads Saint Rose with exactly 20 points and eight rebounds per game, all while leading the team in assists (25), blocks (13) and steals (eight). His 57 field goals on the season rank eighth in NCAA Division II, as do his 108 field goal attempts.
- Last time out against D'Youville, Saint Rose amassed 93 points and shot nearly 60% from the floor (34-for-57) in the 25-point victory. O'Dell led the way with 20 points in 23 minutes, connecting on seven field goals and adding six free throws.
- Juran Ligonde and Eric Fleming round out the double-digit per game point producers for Saint Rose. Ligonde checks in with 14.1 points per game while Fleming pours home 12.8 points, on average.
SCOUTING ADELPHI
- The Panthers snapped a brief two-game losing skid with a 77-68 victory over Jefferson last time out on Sunday, Nov. 27. In the win, Adelphi put up 38 of the game's 61 points in the first half, easing its way to the victory with the help of a plus-17 rebound margin.
- The Panthers were led by Nashua, N.H. native Ronnie Silva and his 23 points off 8-for-17 shooting. Aristotelis Sotiriou pulled down 13 rebounds with 10 rebounds, recording the double-double off the bench.
- Silva is the team's leading scorer, posting exactly 17 points per game and leading the way with 14 three-point baskets made. He is trailed by Sotiriou and his 14.5 points and 8.2 rebounds per contest.
- The Panthers have shot north of 50% from the floor in all but two games – one of those games was a 28-for-59 (47.5%) performance at Queens (N.Y.) in the season-opener.
ALL-TIME vs. SAINT ROSE, ADELPHI
- The Hawks own the 21-16 lead in the all-time series with Saint Rose. Saint Anselm has won nine of the last 12 meetings, but the Golden Knights recorded an 84-70 win over the Hawks last time out on Jan. 29, 2020.
- The Hawks and Golden Knights have met three times in NCAA postseason play, trailing only Jefferson (four) as the most common Saint Anselm opponent.
- Saint Anselm has won 20 of the 35 all-time meetings with Adelphi in a series that dates back to Mar. 1, 1958 and an NCAA tournament meeting.
- The Hawks have won eight of the last nine games with Assumption with the one blemish a 98-89 loss at Adelphi on Jan. 12, 2019.
