PREVIEW: Women's ice hockey ready for home-and-home series against Dartmouth

MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Saint Anselm College women's ice hockey team battles Dartmouth College in a non-conference home-and-home series on Saturday, Nov. 25 and Sunday, Nov. 26.

The Hawks skated a to a pair of 4-2 wins over Saint Michael's College in New England Women's Hockey Alliance play on Nov. 18 and Nov. 19. With the wins, the Hawks improve to 9-8-1 on the season with a 9-3-1 record in league games. After the pair tilts against the Big Green, Saint Anselm concludes play in its fall semester on Tuesday, Nov. 29 at Post University.

The Big Green grabbed a 6-0 win over Post on Nov. 15, snapping three-consecutive one goal losses. Dartmouth improved to 2-6 on the season with a 1-6 record in ECAC Hockey games and will head to the University of Vermont in non-league action on Tuesday, Nov. 29.

HAWKS NOTES
  • Junior Natalie Tulchinsky (Clifton Park, N.Y.) leads the NEWHA with 21 points. Compared to the rest of the league, Tulchinky holds the top spot with 12 goals scored while ranking third in assists with nine.
  • Sophomore Tyra Turner (Andover, Minn.) and graduate student Kelly Golini (Tewksbury, Mass.) are tied for second in the league with 18 points coming from eight goals and 10 assists each. The duo is tied for the league lead with 10 assists while sitting in a tie for third in goals with eight.
  • Golini, who was named the NEWHA Player of the Week on Tuesday, needs just five points to reach the 100 career points mark. In her time on the Hilltop, Golini has scored 48 goals and assisted on 47 others. She would become just the ninth student-athlete in program history to eclipse 100 career points.
  • Sophomore Audrey Jackson (Shoreview, Minn.) is the lone other Saint Anselm student-athlete with double-digit points, sitting at 12 with four goals scored and eight assists.
  • Senior Allie Kelley (East Berne, N.Y.) holds the top spot in the NEWHA in total saves at 525. She owns a 3.19 goals-against average and a 0.908 save percentage in 17 games started this season.
  • The Hawks lead the NEWHA with 50 goals scored this season, good for an average of 2.78 goals per game. Saint Anselm is converting on the power play at 14.1%, netting 11 goals on 78 power play chances. The team's penalty kill is operating at 83.3% on 78 times shorthanded, allowing 13 goals in those scenarios.
SCOUTING DARTMOUTH
  • CC Bowlby leads Dartmouth with six points this season, coming from three goals and three assists.
  • Currie Putrah and Kenzie Bachelor are tied for second on the team with five points apiece.
  • Bowlby and Laura Fuoco are tied for the Big Green lead with three goals each while Bachelor holds the team lead with four assists.
  • Maggie Emerson has started all eight games for Dartmouth this season. She owns a 2.77 goals-against average and a 0.898 save percentage. Both of her wins have come in shutouts this season.
  • The Big Green are four-for-21 on the power play, converting at 19.0% while the penalty kill sits at 82.1%, having allowed five goals in 28 times shorthanded.
ALL-TIME vs. DARTMOUTH
  • The programs first met in a home-and-home series on Nov. 27, 2021 and Nov. 28, 2021. The squads split the series making this two-game set the third and fourth meetings in the all-time series.
  • Dartmouth grabbed a 2-1 win on Nov. 27 from Hanover, N.H. before the Hawks netted a 1-0 win the following day.  Sophomores Madi Ressler (Brighton, Mich.) and Gracee Donovan (Orchard Park, N.Y.) had one goal each in last season's series.
