PREVIEW: Women's basketball heads to Pace for first road trip of 2022-23

MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Saint Anselm College women's basketball team heads to Pace University for its first game away from the Hilltop on Tuesday, Nov. 22.

The Hawks suffered a 70-65 loss to Adelphi University on Nov. 19. With the loss, the team drops to 1-3 in the early going and 0-2 in Northeast-10 Conference play. Saint Anselm will be back in action on Wednesday, Nov. 30 for a 5:30 p.m. opening tip-off against the Golden Knights from the College of Saint Rose.

The Setters dropped their home opener by a 62-57 score on Nov. 19 to the University of Bridgeport, pushing the team to a 1-2 overall record. Following the conference opener for Pace, the team heads to the College of Staten Island on Sunday, Nov. 27 for 1:30 p.m. opening tip-off with the Dolphins.

HAWKS NOTES
  • Junior Gabby Turco (Wildwood, N.J.) registered a game-high 28 points against the Panthers. She also matched a team-high nine rebounds in the contest, coming up one short of a double-double.
  • Turco leads the Hawks with 80 points on the season, good for an average of 20.0 per game. The junior holds the top spot on the Saint Anselm roster with 7.3 rebounds per game, totaling 29 on the season.
  • Senior Liv Robles (Wallingford, Conn.) added 19 points for the Hawks on Saturday and now is averaging 13.9 points per game, which is second most on the squad. She is also averaging 7.0 rebounds per contest.
  • Senior Macy Spinks (Luton, England) registered eight points, five assists, and grabbed nine boards against the Panthers. Spinks holds the top spot on the team with 18 assists, averaging just over four per game.
  • Senior McKenzy Ouellette (West Newfield, Maine) chipped in on Saturday with four points, seven rebounds, and five assists for Saint Anselm. Ouellette is third on the team in scoring average (8.5) and rebounds per game (5.3).
  • Saint Anselm is shooting at 43.5% from the floor and sits at 41.3% from beyond the three-point arc. In those two metrics, the Hawks rank fourth and first against the rest of the NE10 respectively.
SCOUTING PACE
  • Lauren Hackett leads the Pace offense with 13.0 points per game, totaling 39 through the team's opening three games. She also leads the team with 17 total assists and 10 steals.
  • Ciara Collins ranks second on the team with 10.0 points per game and is third on the squad with 5.0 boards per game.
  • Morgan Ryan follows closely with an average of 9.3 points per contest, good for third on the roster.
  • Arianna Stockinger and Shanice Sinclair are the top rebounders for the Setters. Stockinger is pulling down 6.3 rebounds per game while Sinclair sits at 5.7.
  • The setters are shooting at 33.0% on field goals this season and are netting threes at 27.3%. As a team, Pace is averaging just above 57 points per game.
ALL-TIME vs. PACE
  • The Hawks and Setters will be meeting for the 41st time in the all-time series. Pace holds a 23-17 edge against Saint Anselm in women's basketball.
  • The programs last met in the 2021-22 season from Stoutenburgh Gymnasium on Feb. 13, 2022. The Setters recorded a 63-56 win in that contest.
