MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Saint Anselm College women's ice hockey team dropped its non-conference tilt to nationally-ranked Quinnipiac University by a 6-1 score on Friday.

The Hawks drop to 0-4-0 on the season while the Bobcats, who are ranked No. 7 in both the USCHO.com and USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine national polls, remain unbeaten at 5-0-0. The teams conclude their home-and-home series on Saturday, Oct. 8 in Hamden, Conn. with the opening puck drop slated for 3 p.m.

Senior Allie Kelley (East Berne, N.Y.) turned aside 49 shots on goal for the Hawks, posting her second consecutive game with 40 more saves. Logan Angers stopped six of seven shots on goal for the Bobcats.

Sophomore Tyra Turner (Andover, Minn.) opened the scoring with a power play goal at 7:22 of the first period. The sophomore forced a turnover behind the Quinnipiac goal and walked to the front of the goal, beating Angers in the top left corner of the goal.

The Bobcats tied the contest at one with a power play goal by Lexie Adzija at 13:41 of the opening stanza.

Sadie Peart redirected a shot from the point at 11:05 of the second period which gave the visitors a 2-1 lead with their second power play goal of the game.

At 5:40 of the third frame, Maya Labad extended the lead to 3-1 before Shay Maloney netted another Quinnipiac tally just 1:14 later.

Maloney would go on to strike two more times in the third period to net a hat trick in the contest which pushed the score to 6-1.

Saint Anselm was one-for-four on the power play while Quinnipiac netted two goals in six extra-skater opportunities. The Hawks blocked 20 shots in the contest which is the most this season and the most in a game for Saint Anselm since Nov. 28, 2021 in the Hawks win over Dartmouth.
