MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Saint Anselm College volleyball team will battle both Saint Michael's and Assumption for the second time each this season on Tuesday, Oct. 4 and Thursday, Oct. 6 in Northeast-10 Conference action.

The Hawks grabbed a 3-1 win over Pace on Oct. 1 from Pleasantville, N.Y. With the win, Saint Anselm improved to 12-6 on the season and 2-1 in conference matches. The Hawks will be off for eight days following the Assumption match and will be at Saint Rose on Friday, Oct. 14 for a 7 p.m. tilt with the Golden Knights.

The Purple Knights fell to Bentley in straight sets on Oct. 1, dropping to 1-11 overall and 0-3 in NE10 matches. The team will head to Le Moyne on Friday, Oct. 14, marking its next match following the trip to Stoutenburgh Gymnasium.

The Greyhounds fell in five sets to Southern Connecticut State on Sept. 28 which moves them to 1-6 on the season and 1-2 in conference play. The team will play Pace on Tuesday, Oct. 4 before hosting the Hawks on Thursday, Oct. 6.

HAWKS NOTES

• Senior Lauren Casey (Jefferson City, Mo.) led the Hawks with 18 kills while junior Kaitlin Brown (Glendale, Ariz.) added 13 kills and 17 digs in the match against the Setters. Senior Michelle Henwood (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico) posted a double-double of her own with 46 assists and 12 digs.
• Casey leads the Hawks offense with 171 kills, averaging 3.05 per set and has totaled 204.5 points this season. Brown and sophomore Gabby Belcher (Buckeye, Ariz.) rank second and third on the team with 133 and 131 kills each.
• Henwood leads the Hawks with 513 assists this season, good for an average of 9.00 assists per set. The senior co-captain has gone for 30 or more assists in seven matches this season.
• Henwood also leads Saint Anselm with 30 service aces in 2022. Sophomore Kennedy Scheppler (Lubbock, Texas) leads the team with a 0.59 service aces per set ratio.
• Senior co-captain Caroline Belmontez (San Diego, Calif.) leads the Saint Anselm defense with 246 digs which translates to 4.03 per set.
• Junior Audrey Wetjen (Henderson, Nev.) and Brown have 46.0 and 40.0 blocks each this season. Wetjen has 12 solo blocks and 34 assisted compared to five and 35 for Brown.

SCOUTING SAINT MICHAEL'S

• Ella Patterson and Dana Welch are tied for the Purple Knights lead with 67 kills each. Welch is averaging 1.86 kills per set to lead Saint Michael's.
• Alexandra Báez Rentas has registered 300 assists this season, good for an average of 6.98 per set.
• Courtney Curley, Aaliya Huihui-Martinez, and Maddie Van Winkle have all recorded 11 service aces this season. They are tied for the most on the Purple Knights.
• Báez Rentas is leading the Saint Michael's defense with 146 digs this season. She is averaging 3.40 digs per set.
• Curley has three solo blocks and 21 assisted for a team-high 24 total blocks through 12 matches.

SCOUTING ASSUMPTION

• Alexis Distasio is averaging 2.93 kills per set with a total of 82 kills. Carly Goodhue is second on the squad with 65 kills this season.
• Kyra Belden has a team-high 109 assists through seven matches. Tatiana Calderin, Marissa Krawczyk, and Sophia Noel all have 37 or more assists in 2022.
• Barbara Illig and Anna Dean are tied for the Greyhounds lead with 14 service aces each. Brandi Montoya and Distasio have 12 each for Assumption, respectively.
• Montoya leads the defensive efforts for the Greyhounds. She is averaging 4.18 digs per set with a total of 117 on the season.
• Dean has a total of 15 rejections this season. She has seven solo blocks and eight assisted.

ALL-TIME vs. SAINT MICHAEL'S, ASSUMPTION

• Saint Anselm and Saint Michael's will meet for a second time from the Hilltop this season. This meeting will be the 39th in the all-time series with the Hawks holding a 23-15 record.
• The Hawks cruised to a 3-0 victory on Aug. 27. With that win, the Hawks are riding a six-match win streak over the Purple Knights and are winners in 10 of the last 11 matches between the programs.
• The Hawks and Greyhounds are also meeting for the second time this season and will be the 54th all-time. Saint Anselm is 33-20 against Assumption in women's volleyball.
• Saint Anselm extended its winning streak over Assumption with a 3-1 win from Stoutenburgh Gymnasium on Sept. 14.
