The Hawks suffered a 2-0 loss to nationally-ranked Adelphi University on Oct. 15, moving to 7-6-1 overall and 3-6-1 in Northeast-10 Conference play. Saint Anselm will conclude the regular season on Wednesday, Oct. 26 when they host Southern Connecticut State University with a 3 p.m. opening kickoff from Melucci Field.
The Penmen played to their fifth consecutive draw on Oct. 15 as they posted a 1-1 result against the University of New Haven. Southern New Hampshire is now 5-2-5 on the season and 2-2-5 in conference play and will host Pace University on Saturday, Oct. 22 for its final home game of the regular season.
HAWKS NOTES
- Junior Olivia Gotobed (North Andover, Mass.) and sophomore Josie Pecor (Williston, Vt.) are tied for the Hawks lead with four goals apiece. The duo is also tied for the team lead with four helpers each and 12 points.
- Sophomore Faith Lee (North Andover, Mass.) and freshman Kayli Porter (Wakefield, Mass.) are tied for third with two goals each this season.
- Sophomore Erin Rutherford (Ashburnham, Mass.) has three assists this season, which is third highest on the Saint Anselm roster.
- Freshman Emma Hudson (Kingston, Mass.) has started 12 games in the goal for the Hawks. She is 6-5-1 with a 1.35 goals-against average and a 0.771 save percentage. Senior Kate Macaluso (Malverne, N.Y.) has started in each of the last two matches for Saint Anselm and has a 0.800 save percentage and 1.40 goals-against average.
- Saint Anselm has netted 21 goals this season while allowing 19. The team holds a 5-2-1 record when playing on the Hilltop compared to a 2-4-0 record when on the road.
- The Hawks are currently the ninth seed in the NE10 standings with two games left to play.
SCOUTING SOUTHERN NEW HAMPSHIRE
- The Penmen are currently seventh in the conference standings and have three games remaining in its regular season. Southern New Hampshire is unbeaten when playing at home, posting a 2-0-3 record compared to a 3-2-2 record when playing away from campus.
- In the most recent United Soccer Coaches' regional poll, the Penmen are ranked seventh in the East Region.
- Southern New Hampshire has netted 20 goals on the season while allowing just nine and they are led by Nida Orloff who has four tallies on the season. Orloff has added two assists for a team-high 10 points.
- Allison Beaumont ranks second on the team with three goals while five student-athletes sit on two goals on the season.
- Georgia Greene and Imogen Noon are tied for the team lead with three assists each this season while four Penmen have registered two helpers each.
- Hannah Rose has started in 11 games for Southern New Hampshire this season. Rose owns a 0.83 goals-against average and a 0.833 save percentage. Rose ranks in the top-five in the conference in goals against, goals-against average, and save percentage.
ALL-TIME vs. SOUTHERN NEW HAMPSHIRE
- The teams will be battling for the 40th time in the all-time series on Wednesday. The Penmen own a 22-12-5 record in the series.
- The Hawks posted a 1-0 win over Southern New Hampshire on Oct. 28, 2021 marking the last meeting between the two programs.
- Junior Tara McCleary (Quincy, Mass.) netted her first collegiate goal in the 24th minute of the most recent meeting, marking the lone goal of that meeting.
- Saint Anselm is unbeaten in each of the last three matches with Southern New Hampshire, owning a 2-0-1 record.
