MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Saint Anselm College women's tennis team was blanked by visiting Southern New Hampshire University on Tuesday, 7-0.
Saint Anselm drops to 3-8 overall on the year and to 2-5 versus Northeast-10 Conference opponents. Southern New Hampshire remains the only team in the NE10 without a defeat, improving to 8-0 against league foes.
Freshman Irene Garbo (Assemini, Sardinia, Italy) had the closest battle for Saint Anselm, falling to Southern New Hampshire's Magdalena Hubickova, the 2021 NE10 Player of the Year, by a 6-3, 6-4 score.
Senior Anastasia Kapothanasis (Westbrook, Maine) and sophomore Julia Svor (Lewiston, Maine) lost at No. 3 doubles, 6-3. Kapothanasis was honored with a post-match Senior Day ceremony.
Saint Anselm will look to finish the regular season strong as it heads to Saint Michael's on Saturday, Oct. 15 for a 1 p.m. match with the Purple Knights.
