The Hawks downed Le Moyne College by an 81-67 score on Jan. 22, which extended their win streak to five games. Saint Anselm now 10-4 on the season and 6-3 in NE10 play. The team plays three games in the final week of January as they head to Saint Michael's College on Thursday, Jan. 27 and then head to Southern Connecticut State University on Saturday, Jan. 29.
The Golden Knights fell to Southern New Hampshire University on Jan. 22, 83-65. Saint Rose is 6-7 overall and 3-5 against the league. The Golden Knights also have a three-game week to close January as they head to Assumption University on Thursday, Jan. 27 and then to Stonehill College on Saturday, Jan. 29.

SCOUTING SAINT ANSELM
- Saint Anselm is currently tied for third in the D2SIDA Men's Basketball East Region Poll, moving up four spots. The Hawks are tied with Saint Thomas Aquinas College and trail NE10 foe Bentley University and Dominican (N.Y.) College.
- With the score tied at 63 with under six minutes left, the Hawks unleashed an 18-4 scoring run that stunned the visiting Dolphins, pushing the Hawks to an 81-67 victory on Saturday.
- Senior Chris Paul (Highland Mills, N.Y.) matched a season-high 29 points after producing 18 points in the second half alone.
- Paul is averaging 20.0 points per game which is fourth best in the NE10. He leads the conference in free throw makes and attempts, cashing 72-of-101 attempts from the charity stripe.
- Junior Tyler Arbuckle (Bristol, Conn.) was second on the squad with 12 points and classmate Owen McGlashan (Marlton, N.J.) had 11 points and a team-best three steals for Saint Anselm. Senior Gustav Suhr-Jessen (Virum, Denmark) scored 10 points for the Hawks and narrowly missed a double-double with nine rebounds.
- Senior Miles Tention (Palo Alto, Calif.) ranks second on the squad, averaging 14.2 points per game while Arbuckle and Suhr-Jessen are both averaging double-digit scoring for the Hawks.
- Saint Anselm currently sits in second in the NE10 Northeast Division, trailing only Bentley who is 8-2 in conference play. The Hawks were projected to finish in the top spot of the Northeast Division according to the NE10 Preseason Coaches' Poll.
SCOUTING SAINT ROSE
- After have three games postponed to close 2021 and open 2022, the Golden Knights grabbed a win in their return from the break on Jan. 13, downing Saint Michael's College, 86-75. Since then, the team has fallen to Bentley University and Southern New Hampshire by 83-68 and 83-65 scores.
- Adam Anderson and Shane O'Dell netted 15 points each for the Golden Knights while Tray Alexander and Eric Fleming netted 12 points each. Four of the five Saint Rose starters finished with double-digit scoring efforts against the Penmen.
- O'Dell is averaging 19.6 points per game which is fifth most in the NE10. He leads the Golden Knights in rebounds per game, 7.2, and blocks with 0.8 blocks per game.
- Anderson ranks second on the team in scoring with 11.4 points per game while Alexander is third with 10.1 points per game. Alexander leads the NE10 in assists per game with 6.5. He is also leading the conference with 2.3 steals per game.
- Head coach Mike Perno is in his fifth season as the head coach of the Saint Rose men's basketball team. He has led the Golden Knights to the NCAA Championship East Region Semifinal and holds a record of 47-59 (.443).
- Saint Rose was selected to tie for sixth in the Southeast Division in the NE10 Preseason Coaches' Poll. The Golden Knights hold the fifth spot in the Southeast Division standings.
ALL-TIME vs. SAINT ROSE
- This is the 37th meeting between the two squads as the Hawks lead the all-time series, 21-15.
- The last time the two squads met came on Jan. 29, 2020 which resulted in a 93-79 victory for Saint Anselm. The Hawks have won three of the last four meetings.
- When playing as the road team, Saint Anselm is 6-11 against Saint Rose. The last time the Hawks made the trip to Saint Rose was on Jan. 30, 2019 were Saint Anselm captured a 92-82 win.
