Women's tennis set back at Franklin Pierce, 7-0

RINDGE, N.H. – Taking on the 2021 NCAA Division II East Region Champions in women's tennis, the Saint Anselm College women's tennis team was toppled by Franklin Pierce University by a 7-0 score on Wednesday.

Saint Anselm remains without a victory in two matches on the season while Franklin Pierce moves to 1-0. The Hawks host New Haven this Sunday, Sept. 12 at 1 p.m. – all home matches will be played at the Derryfield School.

The Hawks took just two games in doubles play as Franklin Pierce easily moved ahead by a 1-0 margin. The Ravens continued to control the match in singles play with the closest battle of the day coming at No. 5 singles – Elle Doucette fell by a 6-3, 6-3 margin.

Franklin Pierce won the No. 3, No. 4 and No. 6 singles by 6-0, 6-0 scores.
