MANCHESTER, N.H. – After falling to New Haven on Saturday, 2-0, the regionally-ranked Saint Anselm College men's soccer team returns to action on Tuesday, Sept. 28 against Saint Michael's in Northeast-10 Conference action. The match from Melucci Field is scheduled for a 4 p.m. start.

After posting a 4-0 win over Stonehill, the Hawks fell to New Haven by a 2-0 score on Saturday evening. Junior
Brian Underhill (Westford, Mass.) made four saves on six shots on goal. The Hawks had early chances in the first half with shots from juniors
Jackson Bukunt (Upton, Mass.) and
Josue Assantha (Bukavu, Democratic Republic of Congo), but did not convert. Sophomore
Tucker Henry (Lee, N.H.) had a late second-half opportunity to cut the deficit, but his attempt was turned aside.
The Purple Knights grabbed a 4-1 win against Assumption on Saturday afternoon. With the score tied at one just 6:52 into regulation, the Purple Knights rattled off three unanswered goals to capture the three-goal victory. Earlier this season, Saint Michael's edged the Hawks by a 1-0 margin in non-league play and will look to topple Saint Anselm in the team's conference game to be played Tuesday.
SCOUTING THE HAWKS
- The Hawks are 2-1 in their last three matches and have won two out of three matches on two occasions now.
- Saint Anselm is currently tied for third in the NE10 standings. In conference play, the Hawks have tallied seven goals while allowing three, the third-best goal differential in league contests.
- Senior Zach Elliot (Manchester, N.H.) is the team's leading goal scorer with five goals and leads the team in points with 12. Elliot is tied for the team lead in assists with two.
- Assantha is second in goals with three and is tied for the team lead in assists with Elliot. He has eight points this season.
- Junior Taylor Silverstein (Concord, N.H.) has one goal and one assist for three points. Joining the Hawks scoring efforts are junior Jonathan Alves (Peabody, Mass.) and senior Patrick Sorensen (Sturbridge, Mass.) as both have one goal each.
- Sophomores Thomas Prentice (Merrimack, N.H.) and Zach Verow (Bedford, N.H.) have one assist each.
- Underhill is 4-2 this season with three shutouts. The junior goalkeeper has an 0.67 goals-against average and a .846 save percentage which rank third and first in the conference.
- Saint Anselm holds a 33-26 shots on goal edge over their opponents. They have a plus-seven goal differential, having scored 11 and only allowed four.
SCOUTING THE PURPLE KNIGHTS
- The Purple Knights are 1-2 in their last three matches with loses to Southern Connecticut and No. 2 Franklin Pierce before downing Assumption.
- Saint Michael's is tied for seventh in the NE10 standings, holding a 1-2 record in league play. The Purple Knights have scored four goals in conference matches while allowing five.
- Miguel Diaz and McCaskill have three goals each to lead the Purple Knights offense. Diaz is tied for the team lead in assists with two and is the team leader in points with eight.
- Brady and Luke Magnier have one goal and two assists each for four points. Brock Martindale and Schramm have one tally each, rounding out the scoring for the Purple Knights.
- Mathias Loft has started four matches in goal. He is 2-2 with a 1.63 goals against average and a .571 save percentage. Ian Boudreau is 1-1 in two starts for the Purple Knights, holding a 1.29 goals against average and a .727 save percentage. Ethan Fitzsimmons has made one start and earned the win in that match.
- The Purple Knights hold a 37-32 edge over their opponents in shots on goal. Having scored 10 goals and allowed 10 goals, Saint Michael's has a "zero" goal differential.
ALL-TIME vs. SAINT MICHAEL'S
- This is the 58th meeting all-time between the Hawks and Purple Knights. Saint Anselm is 36-14-7 against Saint Michael's.
- The teams met earlier this month in the fourth annual Community Cup, which was won by the Purple Knights, 1-0. McCaskill scored the match's lone goal in the 67th minute.
- This marks the fourth consecutive season that the programs have met twice. In conference play, the Hawks are 21-8-4 against the Purple Knights.
- Saint Anselm has posted 52 goals in conference games while allowing just 27. All-time, the Hawks hold the goals edge, 94-63.
- The first meeting between the schools came on Oct. 28, 1967. The longest win streak for either side is a 12-match win streak by Saint Anselm which ran from Oct. 29, 1994 to Sept. 20, 2005.
