Saint Anselm owns a 1-5 overall record and has lost each of its four matches in Northeast-10 Conference play. Le Moyne entered the weekend with a 2-0 overall record and earned a 7-0 win at Assumption on Saturday, moving to 3-0.
SCOUTING SAINT ANSELM
- Saint Anselm picked up a 9-0 victory over the host Panthers from Plymouth State University last Thursday. The Hawks have won 22 of the 29 matches in the all-time series that dates back to Oct. 3, 1981.
- Just two days later, the Hawks narrowly defeated NCAA Division I Holy Cross, falling by a 4-3 score. The Hawks won No. 3 and No. 6 singles and also picked up two points in doubles play.
- Last time out, Saint Anselm fell to Assumption by a 5-2 score on Sept. 19. The Hawks won at No. 5 singles and also laid claim to a No. 6 singles win for the third consecutive match.
- Freshman Julia Casaletto has won two consecutive singles matches and remains undefeated (2-0) on the year in singles competition.
- Junior Anastasia Kapothanasis and freshman Olivia Parzick have captured two wins in five matches at No. 2 doubles, the most by a Hawks duo on the season.
LOOKING AT LE MOYNE
- Le Moyne eased its way to a 7-0 victory over Assumption on Saturday. Franklin Pierce had downed the Dolphins by a 4-0 margin on Wednesday, but the win for the Ravens was nullified following a Le Moyne protest and the match will be replayed.
- Against Assumption, the closest match of the day came at No. 1 singles - Assumption's Julia Chappell opened up the day with a 6-2 win, but Birdem Oz won the next two sets via scores of 7-5 and 10-1.
- The Dolphins are a combined 17-0 in singles play and Oz and Fiona Pepper are a combined 6-0 at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, respectively. The remaining four singles flights have rotated throughout the season so far.
- Oz has paired with Francesca Lilliegren to produce a 3-0 record at No. 1 doubles.
ALL-TIME vs. LE MOYNE
- Le Moyne leads the all-time series against Saint Anselm by an 14-11 margin. The first match between both institutions took place on Sept. 21, 1996, a narrow 4-3 victory for the Dolphins.
- The Dolphins have won seven of the last eight matches, falling only to Saint Anselm on Sept. 25, 2016.
- Saint Anselm and Le Moyne did not meet during the 2020-21 season.
