The Hawks went on the attack early as the they registered three shots in the first four minutes including a shot by junior Jackson Bukunt (Upton, Mass.). Senior Zach Elliot (Manchester, N.H.) sent a long through ball for the junior who quickly gathered and fired a shot toward the lower right of the goal. Themis Kastoris made the save as he was cutting down the angle.

The Chargers struck first in the 27th minute as Pau Santanach put a shot in a perfect position into the upper right of the goal. Alexander Gunnarsson found Santanach in the left side of the 18-yard box. Santanach paused and produced a high-arching shot over junior goalkeeper Brian Underhill (Westford, Mass.).

Junior Josue Assantha (Bukavu, Democratic Republic of Congo) found free space on the edge of the 18-yard box on a pass from senior Michael Fortin (Goffstown, N.H.). Assantha sent a shot toward the lower left of the goal but an attacking Kastoris made the sliding save with his right leg to preserve the Chargers lead in the 31st minute.

Underhill faced a strong Chargers attack in the second half, making four saves before the 82nd minute. Imanol Ruiz gained free space and managed to beat Underhill to double the Chargers lead with less than 10 minutes to go.

The Hawks did not record a second half shot on goal until sophomore Tucker Henry (Lee, N.H.) sent a right-footed shot on goal, forcing Kastoris to come off his line to make the save.
