The Hawks dropped their final tune-up before the NE10 opener to Saint Michael's on Saturday, Sept. 11. The Purple Knights goal ended 246 minutes for Saint Anselm without allowing a goal. The Hawks had two second half chances to break through on the scoreboard but saves on both shots kept the Purple Knights 1-0 lead.
The Falcons grabbed a 1-0 win over Assumption in their final non-conference game of the season.
Patrick McMahon scored his second goal of the season in the 26th minute.
Alex Wood made two saves to preserve the shutout.
SCOUTING THE HAWKS
- Senior Zach Elliot (Manchester, N.H.) leads the Hawks offense with two goals. Juniors Taylor Silverstein (Concord, N.H.) and Josue Assantha (Bukavu, Democratic Republic of Congo) have tallied a goal each.
- Assantha and Silverstein hold a game-winning goal each, which is tied for 23th in Division II.
- Elliot is also the team leader in assists with two, having a hand in all four goals scored by the Hawks this season. Silverstein, sophomore Zach Verow (Bedford, N.H.), and freshman Thomas Prentice (Merrimack, N.H.) have recorded their first career points by assists this season.
- Junior Brian Underhill (Westford, Mass.) in 2-1 on the season, posting two shutouts. Underhill holds a .33 goals against average and a .900 save percentage. He has faced 35 shots and made nine saves on 10 shots on goal.
- Underhill is tied for eighth in Division II in save percentage and in goals against average.
- Saint Anselm is outshooting its opponents, 40-35. The Hawks also hold a 19-10 advantage in shots on goal.
- The Hawks are tied for eighth nationally in team goals against average.
- Saint Anselm holds a plus-three goal differential.
SCOUTING THE FALCONS
- McMahon and TJ Walker hold the team lead with two goals each. James Gallagher, Eric Makhatadze, and Connor Mote round out the scoring with one goal each.
- Harrison Bourgeois, Ronan Fitzpatrick, Hunter Marshall, and Makhatadze have one assist each.
- McMahon and Walker are tied with Assantha and Silverstein in game-winning goals.
- Mote leads the team with eight shots, six on goal. McMahon is right behind with seven shots and four on goal.
- Markus Foehr has started in three games and holds a 1-2 record. He has made 11 saves on 19 shots on goal. Wood has one start and two appearances on the season. He in 1-0 after posting a two-save shut out of Assumption. He has five saves on the season.
- The Falcons have allowed 55 shots while recording 48. They hold a 26-25 advantage in shots on goal.
- Bentley has a goal differential of minus-one.
ALL-TIME vs. BENTLEY
- This will be the 53rd meeting all-time between the two programs. The Falcons lead the series, 25-21-6.
- The first match all-time was in November of 1972.
- The last meeting was on Sept. 21, 2019. Bentley captured a 2-1 win on the its home pitch.
- The Hawks hold the longest winning streak, nine games from November 8, 1996 to October 11, 2003.
