MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Saint Anselm College women's tennis team was blanked by visiting Franklin Pierce University on Sunday by a 4-0 score in the Carr Activities Center.
These two teams met back on Mar. 21, when the Hawks were shut out, 5-0, by the Ravens on the campus of Franklin Pierce University. Saint Anselm drops to 0-4 on the year while Franklin Pierce remains undefeated with a 5-0 overall record.
The Hawks will travel to the Allard Center in Goffstown, N.H. to take on cross-town rival Southern New Hampshire University on Wednesday, Mar. 31 at 8:30 p.m.
The Ravens eased its way into an early 1-0 lead, sweeping all three doubles matches. Both the second and third Hawks doubles battled to the closest result, falling by a 6-1 score to their respective doubles opponents from Franklin Pierce.
Playing only to decision, Franklin Pierce earned three quick singles victories to end the match. The Ravens clinched the victory with a 6-1, 6-0 win at each of the No. 4, 5, and 6 singles.
