SCOUTING THE HAWKS
  • The women's tennis team's home opener against Southern New Hampshire was the first on-campus athletics event – in any sport – since Mar. 7, 2020.
  • Against the Penmen, seniors Maikah Bulpitt (Cumberland, R.I.) and Dominique Bolduc (Manchester, N.H.) battled to the closest doubles result, ultimately falling by a 6-2 score to the No. 2 doubles tandem from SNHU.
  • Sophomore Anastasia Kapothanasis (Westbrook, Maine) fell in the first set at No. 2 doubles, 6-3, but rallied to post a 6-1 score in set two to force a decisive third stanza before falling to Alexxa Etienne.
  • Freshman Elizabeth Janiak (Nashua, N.H.) made her collegiate debut for Saint Anselm against the Penmen, playing alongside junior Emily Jacy (Glastonbury, Conn.) at No. 1 doubles.
REVIEWING THE RAVENS
  • The women's tennis program is reaching new heights at Franklin Pierce in recent times, posting a 9-7 record in 2019-20 after winning just 11 matches from 2013-14 to the end of the 2018-19 campaign.
  • Most recently, Franklin Pierce is coming off of a convincing 4-0 victory against Stonehill, the two-time defending conference champions. By comparison, the Ravens made their first-ever NE10 postseason appearance in 2019-20.
  • The Ravens opened their season against Saint Michael's on Mar. 14, easing past the Purple Knights by a 7-0 score. In total, Franklin Pierce lost just five games in singles play.
ALL TIME vs. FRANKLIN PIERCE
  • Saint Anselm enjoys a 25-5 lead in the all-time series over Franklin Pierce that dates back to Oct. 16, 1990.
  • The Hawks had won 14 consecutive matches over the Ravens from Mar. 16, 2006 to Sept. 30, 2018. The streak was snapped in the 2019-20 season as the Ravens eased their way to a 7-0 win over the Hawks on Oct. 10, 2019.
