Saint Anselm has won three consecutive games after beginning the season with an 0-2 record. Most recently, the Hawks picked up a 90-82 road win at Bridgeport on Wednesday, logging a season-high in point scoring before returning to the Hilltop for three of their next four games before the Holiday break.

No. 24-ranked Stonehill hauls a 6-2 record up to Manchester on Sunday, but lost its last game to Saint Thomas Aquinas, 53-49, to snap a five-game winning streak that spanned from Nov. 17 through Nov. 28. The Skyhawks have downed each of their first two opponents from the NE10, including Saint Michael's and Bentley.

Fans attending Sunday's game are expected to familiarize themselves with the College's spectator and ticketing policies.

The Hawks men's basketball team and Saint Anselm College are proud to honor, recognize and thank the team's Hawks Soar Higher Club donors.

SCOUTING SAINT ANSELM

  • The Hawks have secured three quality victories entering play on Sunday. After picking up a key NE10 win against No. 24 Southern New Hampshire on Tuesday, Nov. 23, the Hawks then defeated Saint Thomas Aquinas on Sunday, Nov. 28, who was receiving votes in the NABC National Poll. Bridgeport, who fell to the Hawks on Wednesday, was the top seed in the canceled East Region Championship in 2020.
  • Senior Chris Paul (Highland Mills, N.Y.) scored a game-high 23 points, crossing the 1,500-career-point threshold. He is just the 15th student-athlete to reach 1,500 career points in a Saint Anselm uniform since the team's inception in 1934.
  • Paul also completed the double-double with 12 rebounds, joining Matt Becker (Fairfield, Conn.) in double-digit rebounding – the sophomore had 18 points and reeled in 12 caroms with six assists.
  • Senior Gustav Suhr-Jessen (Virum, Denmark) had 19 points, four rebounds and three assists against Bridgeport while classmate Joey Belli (Wayne, N.J.) had 12 points with three steals, leading the Hawks in the latter category. Senior Miles Tention (Palo Alto, Calif.) handed out three of his team's 20 assists on the evening.
  • The Hawks matched a season-high field-goal percentage (.500, 34-for-68) with Wednesday's result and also shot .800 from the free throw line, going 16-for-20 (.800) for the second consecutive game. After opening the year shooting 54.6% from the free throw line (35-for-64), Saint Anselm has made 32 of its last 40 free throws (80.0%).
  • Saint Anselm has also hauled in at least 40 rebounds in each of its last three games and have out-gained its opponents on the glass in all but one of their five games to date. Becker is third in the NE10 with 10.2 rebounds per game with Paul ranking fourth, collecting 8.8 per contest.
  • Head Coach Keith Dickson enters play with a 667-344 (.660) record since joining the Hawks in 1986. The Hawks have not lost double-digit games across the last six complete seasons and, since the start of the 2018-19 season, has won 50 games in 66 opportunities.

PREVIEWING STONEHILL

  • Stonehill fell to Saint Thomas Aquinas on Wednesday in a low-scoring affair, 53-49. The Skyhawks shot 31.6% from the floor, missing 17 of their 21 shots from beyond the arc for a 19.0% three-point field goal percentage.
  • Senior Andrew Sims leads the Skyhawks with 16.1 points per game. He is joined in double-digits by classmate Isaiah Burnett (13.5) and Jackson Benigni (10.7). Sims is 14th in the nation with 34 free throws made and Burnett's 273-plus minutes of game play ranks ninth in NCAA Division II.
  • The Skyhawks have kept their opponents to 59 or fewer points in each of their last four games. The team, on average, gives up just 61.4 points per contest which stands as the second-best figure in the NE10 and 18th in NCAA Division II.
  • Stonehill has hauled in 301 rebounds, leading the NE10 and ranking 11th in the nation by virtue of playing eight games to date. The team's average rate of 37.62 is ninth in the 14-team NE10 conference.
  • The Skyhawks are actually shooting at a better rate on the road (33.9%-to-27.6%), but have logged more rebounds per game away from Merkert Gymnasium.
  • Stonehill is led by Chris Kraus, who is in the midst of his ninth year with the program. He has a career record of 121-89 (.576) as his team has won 24 of their last 37 games since the start of the 2019-20 season.

ALL-TIME vs. STONEHILL

  • Saint Anselm is 73-50 in the all-time series with Stonehill that dates back to XX. The only team that the Hawks have faced more frequently than the Skyhawks is Assumption, who has battled Saint Anselm 126 times in team history.
  • The Hawks have won six of the last seven games against Stonehill since Feb. 15, 2017. Five of those six victories have been double-digit wins, including a 92-66 win over the Skyhawks on Nov. 20, 2018.
